Bristles obtained from hogs are the most sought after brush hair in several parts of the world. Hog bristle is unlike any other natural filler in that it forms a V-shaped split or "flag" at the tip and tends to have a natural curve. Hog bristle brush with "interlocked" bristles, with the curves formed inward to the ferrule, has a natural resistance to fraying and spreads medium to thick paints smoothly and evenly.

A selection of pure hog bristle brushes is recommended for oil and acrylic painting, and is a far less expensive alternative to good-quality softer hairs. It is very stiff and because Hog hair has a natural curve, two bundles, facing each other, are used to make a brush. The finest quality Hog Bristle comes from Chungking China and can be identified, after 'dressing', by a beautiful sheen. For the finer work in a painting, an artist usually turns to Sable brushes.

Most brushes used for oil painting are made of hog bristle because they are strong and robust for use with the heavy paints and the roughness of the canvas. They maintain their stiffness and shape, both in use and over a long period of time. A Hog Bristle brush provide the best possible cleaning and works well when dealing with sticky, crusty materials or viscous fluids.

Type Of Hair (Cosmetic Brushes)

There are many hair types used in making cosmetic brushes. Natural hair cosmetic brush is usually made from Squirrel hair, Pony hair, Goat hair or blends such as Squirrel Mix and Squirrel Blends and are used mostly in the manufacture of larger cosmetic brushes such as powder brush, blush brush, contour blending brush and some larger eye-shadow brushes.

Other soft cosmetic brush are also be made from the different types of sables or pahmi hair and are more commonly used for smaller cosmetic brushes such as sable lip brush, medium and smaller sabel eyeshadow brushes and eyeliner brushes. Natural bristles are also used for slant eyebrow brushes or groomers, etc. Two most common synthetics used in makeup brushes today are Nylon and Taklon.

Also not mentioned here yg cosmetic brushes ada dibuat dr hog bristles. Kesimpulannya saya yakin yg semua cosmetic brushes HALAL digunakan.. Betul ke statement saya ni? kang timbul kontroversi lak.. :hmm: kalu salah tegur tau, cik2 mod kita edit eh..

shilin pun ada beli dulu powder brush elianto nih...RM16...plg besar antara shilin punya brush collections..mmg puas klu sapu kat muka, 2,3 kali sapu dah siap..besar la katakan.........bukan la the best brush ni but still ok utk daily use....like munie ckp mmg ada sehelai dua yg tercabut kekadang...

best gak stila nyer ader 5 brush -concealer,eyeliner precision,allover blend shadow, eyebrow,face concealer brush...:cak:, yelah shilin kena tunggu sale...

tu la shilin tengok pun pelik gakk...tp baru2 nih shilin singgah beli eyeshadow..tengok rega brush tu mmg RM16..yg kecik skit dr tu baru RM12 yg saiz utk blusher tuh...yg tu kot munie...

You all prihatin tak brush make-up kita semua di buat dari bulu apa?

Last week Kirana ke sebuah pusat membeli belah dan ke  make-up counter dan berkenan betul nak beli satu blusher brush.
Tapi diberitahu oleh salesgirl tu, agar tak beli brush tu kerana di perbuat dari pure bristle (selalunya dorang guna bulu Boar)
Terdiam sekejap Kirana!  Salesgirl tu nasihatkan Kirana beli brushes make-up yang di perbuat dari nylon bristle.

Kawan-kawan pernah tak guna pure bristle brush ni?

me blusher brush pakai manicare .. so far so good..

but i tot bulu boar tu kan macam keras.. i ingat my teacher dulu time class art n craft kata yang paint brushes from china tu yang color hitam or putih few cents tu yang buat drp boar.. quite keras ah..

dia recommend pakai yang pentel nyer brand or sumting.. nylon nyer and much more lembut..

when we buy we always ask what bristle...usually pony, sable, squirrel and goat. for liquid foundation and lip brushes pulak usually synthetic. yg branded names yg brushes mahal2 tu usually pakai the above animals' hair. usually yg murah and kasar that comes from china...dari boar.
