PSP NobleQ combines the traits of passive program equalizers with a broad spectrum of frequency adjustments and expanded functionalities. To enhance its adaptability, we've introduced contemporary features such as an adjustable high pass filter and the capability to toggle the high peak and shelf filters between "Boost" and "Attenuation" modes.
Noted for its warm, musical tone, PSP NobleQ features boost and attenuation low-shelf filters, as well as combined peak and shelf high-frequency processing. This warmth is achieved through refined processing techniques, utilizing FAT double sampling for a natural, analog-like response. Furthermore, an output valve-like rounding algorithm with adjustable processing depth has been incorporated.
The low shelf filter effectively combines two shelving sections: one for boosting low frequencies and the other for attenuating them, albeit set slightly higher in frequency. Together, they contribute to a rich bottom end without sacrificing low-midrange clarity.
In the high frequency range, two filters are employed—a peaking filter with adjustable bandwidth (typically set to Boost) and a shelf filter (usually set to Attenuate). These filters interact in a manner where increased attenuation to high frequencies amplifies the selective peaking filter while maintaining its center frequency boost.
