pengalaman berharga tak dpt dilupakan...travel sengsorang kat europe..."pressure" travel sengsorang nih lain skit..hanya org yg pernah travel sengsorang tahu cemana rasanya...esp bila facing dgn insident yang tak syok mcm yg aku citer tuh...kalau tak kuat semangat mmg mudah give up la...by the way, memang penat gak "living on the road" nih....tapi enjoy gilerr....syok giler travel kat europe time summer..meriah....

bab different race tu...aku setuju, bangsa atau warna kulit tak menunjukkan jahat ke tak...cos dulu aku penah dpt pertolongan dgn org kulit itam gak masa kat belgium kalau tak silap aku...is just that, kalau travel just doa banyak2 supaya tak face insident atau org2 yang akan spoil the journey...seteruesnya meng"spoil" kan mood utk backpack...

melalut lak aku neh..ok guys, keep on posting about paris...

been to paris..  oklah.. not so bad.. communication wise memang problem.. metro dia we all pening naik.. bau busuk pasal they all main bawak masuk anjing sekali.. iskk..  lupa laks apa nama hotel w ...

Penah pegi Paris awal thn ni dan stay dlm masa 6 hari  tinggal kat outskirt - so jenjalan kena naik RER dua tkt mcm train..kat Paris ade 2 jenis LRT/train..RER & METRO (utk jarak dekat) ..so train RER dog memang  bole bawa masuk termasuk certain bus. Memang berbau le dn kotor..klu train x dibasuh setiap hari. Klu naik Metro much better mcm LRT tp besar sikit..dan bersih skt.

Graffiti memang byk terutama kat tepi bangunan dn tembok masa lalu naik  tren  Eurostar /RER jika  lalu atas not underground.

Memang banyak pak itam terutama peak hours..tp klu dekat tourist area krg sikit spt kat louvre& eiffel tower..
tp beggar mungkin krg sikit masa tu..masih winter..akhir bulan 1. Tp ade nampak jga org Cina beggar kat train stesen..

penah gak kat depan LV (masa tu x de beg besar)  ade couple Cina dr Vietnam/China  nak jual Beg tangan LV.. mula2 x faham apa yang dia nak.. ckp English dia x betul...mula2 nak minta kita belikan beg utk mereka sbb x fhm apa mereka ckpi..rupa2nya nak  jual .beg. nak tergelak sbb jual kat depan LV tp mereka nie just sapa yg lalu dpn kedai LV tu

Ini antara komen tourist dari laman web virtualtourist tentang beggers, agressive street vendors dan pickpocket in Paris. Just nak share dgn pembaca forum yang lain, especially yang bercadang nak ke Paris, always be extra careful. Masa aku kat Paris aku jalan sengsorang, aku tengok persekitaran kat sana dgn a lot of beggers, street vendors yang agressive, first aku rasa rimas, second aku jadi takut dan tak sedap hati...Aku stop kat one place sekejap sekejap je..pastu by 3 pm aku terus blah balik London...It was intimidating and "scary" experience for me in Paris...Then aku baca posting dari website nih, semua tourist experience the same thing....

(1) You will also see a lot of poverty in the French capital. The amount of beggars in the metro and outside, or people trying to sell you stuff on the streets is huge. Many of the beggars are actually pick-pockets, who will first find out where you put your wallet. Especially around the Eiffel tower, there are far too many of them and the French police should do a little bit more about it!

(2) Beware of young women hanging around Notre Dame and the Arc Triomphe asking, 揇o you speak English?

Thanks for the caution..I also heard the same thing in books and in website and how these beggars and picpocket  operate. So to be safe. Please put your wallet inside of jacket or using waist pouch and not to put the wallet  that they can see especially in back pocket.

So you have to be careful and not to speak with strangers or normally children..because this is their current mode of operation utk berkerumun (crowd) and untuk distraction because this is normally they did.

Tp masa I pegi  berada dlm masa 6 hari..tak de plak beggar or gypsies.  I think it is because of low season, cuaca sejuk dia tak beroperate. Walaupun waktu siang singkat and sejuk so mereka tiada. Dia org operate mungkin indoors such as train station or airport. Fortunately no one had approaches me except incident in from of LV store.

Satu lagi gambar from the of Eiffel tower (not really the top) but 2nd Level observation. During winter 1st Level observation  became ice skating rink.

recent article about paris

'Paris syndrome' leaves tourists in shock
25 October 2006

PARIS: Around a dozen Japanese tourists a year need psychological treatment after visiting Paris as the reality of unfriendly locals and scruffy streets clashes with their expectations, a newspaper reported.

"A third of patients get better immediately, a third suffer relapses and the rest have psychoses," Yousef Mahmoudia, a psychologist at the Hotel-Dieu hospital, next to Notre Dame cathedral, told the newspaper Journal du Dimanche.

Already this year, Japan's embassy in Paris has had to repatriate at least four visitors - including two women who believed their hotel room was being bugged and there was a plot against them.

Previous cases include a man convinced he was the French 'Sun King', Louis XIV, and a woman who believed she was being attacked with microwaves, the paper cited Japanese embassy official Yoshikatsu Aoyagi as saying.

"Fragile travellers can lose their bearings. When the idea they have of the country meets the reality of what they discover it can provoke a crisis," psychologist Herve Benhamou told the paper.

The phenomenon, which the newspaper dubbed "Paris Syndrome", was first detailed in the psychiatric journal Nervure in 2004.

Bernard Delage of Jeunes Japon, an association that helps Japanese families settle in France, said:

"In Japanese shops, the customer is king, whereas here assistants hardly look at them ... People using public transport all look stern, and handbag snatchers increase the ill feeling."

A Japanese woman, Aimi, told the paper:

"For us, Paris is a dream city. All the French are beautiful and elegant ... And then, when they arrive, the Japanese find the French character is the complete opposite of their own."
