WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN ENTERING SINGAPORE

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN ENTERING SINGAPORE.
It is best to read here on what you need to know abt Singapore.
http://www.visitorsingapore.com/

If you are driving, then this is the webpage to go to :

As a summary, before driving into Singapore, make sure your Road Tax is valid. upon arriving kat immigration Singapore, u kena beli an Autopass.
Autopass ni untuk bayar toll/car charges (VEP), harga autopass ni tak silap akak dlm S$10 (mesti sediakan duit Singapore untuk bayar). Toll is chargeable, klik sini TOLL CHARGES

Setiap kereta Foreign yg masuk Singapore akan dikenakan VEP fees of S$20 sehari for Monday to Friday between 2am to 5pm.

Tapi If your car baru 1st time masuk Singapore, dpt 10 hari free entry {VEP-FREE} untuk tahun pertama masuk S'pore (after the 10 days free VEP or after 1 year, barulah keter tu kena bayar VEP charges )

Vehicle Category

No VEP fee payable

However, If you choose to drive thru the ERP charges (only applicable during weekdays' busy period in Town & Business district area), then bila you keluar nanti akan di kenakan bayaran sebanyak S$5.00 sehari.. Nak info lebih, klik sini 10 DAYS FREE VEP

Vehicle Category

Untuk memudahkan adik2 yg tak sure samada kena ke tak charges VEP & ERP or how much you akan kena, you boleh gunakan website ini untuk calculate the appx cost so you know how much to top up your Autopass upon exiting Singapore.

WHERE TO STAY

WHERE TO STAY

harga hotel di Singapore mmg mahal. so kalau sekadar nak tido saja, akak suggest just take a reasonable priced hotel yg bersih dan conveniently located.
Tapi kalau budget tebal.. then by all means, take a great hotel right on Orchard Road.
Di bawah ni akak kasi some of the link of the hotel that is conveniently located dan reasonable priced.

BUDGET HOTEL & BACKPACKERS

Astro Hotel http://www.astrohotel.com.sg/ <http://www.astrohotel.com.sg/>
Ni pun kat geylang.. betul2 sebelah Joo Chiat Complex. Berdepan pulak ngan Hajah Maimunah restaurant.. mmg sedap.

Hotel One66  http://web.singnet.com.sg/~one66/ <http://web.singnet.com.sg/~one66/>
ni location betul2 kat kawasan perumahan HDB & is actually situated in the HDB flat itself. You can stay here and feel camna kehidupan di perumahan S'pore. harga pun gerek... tempat pun gerek.. and best of all. 5 minit to the MRT and kuar jer dari hotel ni terus dah jumpa tempat makan...

Sleepy Sam B & B     http://www.sleepysams.com/ <http://www.sleepysams.com/>
hah.. yg ni pun gerek... located betul2 dekat ngan masjid sultan. kuar jer.. leh nampak masjid sultan dah.. nak cari makan pun senang kerana byk cafe & restaurant around this place. Famous Singapore Murtabak  Restaurant pun jalan kaki 5 minit dah leh sampai. MRT station located less than 5 minutes walk. Kalau nak gi Suntec City laks.. tak perlu jalan jauh less than 10 minute leh sampai.. naik bas pun boleh.

Hotel Aspinal http://www.aspinals.com.sg/accommodations.php
Yang suka bershopping di Mustafa, this is the best hotel to be at... betul2 dkt ngan Mustafa.

Ambassador Hotel http://www.ambassador.com.sg/ <http://www.ambassador.com.sg/>
Highly recommendated by one of Cari Forummer (Morango) yg pernah tinggal di sana, dkt ngan Mustafa gak....

Llyod Inn  http://www.lloydinn.com/
Located at the back of Orchard Road.. abt 10 minutes walk. nearest MRT is Douby Ghout Station

YMCA Singapore http://www.hotel-web.com/ymca/yi-sing/ <http://www.hotel-web.com/ymca/yi-sing/>
Located along orchard gak.. 5 minutse away from the Dhoby Ghout MRT station and very near to Plaza Singapura Shopping.

HOTEL81 CHAIN
http://hotel81.com.sg/hotels.shtml <http://hotel81.com.sg/hotels.shtml>  - byk location all over singapore to suit where u want to be, hotel81 yg I tau harga dia sgt berpatutan(from S$69 per night onwards), basic amenities covered, clean and convenient. Cawangan lain hotel 81 I tak galakkan kerana ni tempat yg tak berapa convenient and are mainly used for "short term escapades for lovers" (if you know what I mean :cak <>
My recommendation below :

tapi I would suggest if you decide to take Hotel81 pick either one of these outlet.

A. Hotel81 Beencoolen.
Dekat ngan Orchard,Serangoon Road, Sg Road, Sim Lim & also ngan Bugis.
Appx 8-10 mins walk to MRT Dhoby Ghout.

B. Hotel Chinatown
Dekat LRT Chinatown and dkt ngan area nak beli souvenoir kat sebelah Chinatown LRT tu.. (something like Petaling Street). Also dekat ngan people's park where byk barang u leh reccee. And it is abt 1 or 2 LRT station away from Boat Quay & Clark Quay. Great place for someone yg minat photography taking. Also, dekat gak ngan Peninsula Plaza & The Esplanate (bangunan yg cam durian tu.. hehehe) Peninsula ni tempat nak beli leather goods, kasut sports and jeans..

C. Hotel81 CLassic
Ni situated betul2 kat Junction Geylang Serai. berdepan ngan Joo Chiat Complex.
hmmm... nothing much la kalau hari2 biasa kalau takde perayaan.. tapi I would suggest u pick this last kerana...
dlm tahun depan, geylang serai akan menjalani major construction.. sooo takut sepi laks tempat tu dan not forgetting bising bunyi construction.

D. Hotel81TriStar Inn
Located betul2 kat Geylang, menghadap ngan Darul Arqam dan Perkampungan melayu. 7 -8 minutes walk to MRT station. Ramai warga malaysia suka tinggal kat sini kerana located dkt ngan geylang serai.. senang nak bershopping kat Joo Chiat Complex

E.. Hotel81 Rochor
This is an old local hotel yg dorang take over and refurbished. Very convinently located near Bugis, Arab Street, Little India & Sim Lim Tower.

THE INN-CROWD http://www.the-inncrowd.com <http://www.the-inncrowd.com/>
Located in Little India area, dkt ngan MRT Little India.

The Summer Tavern Hostel http://www.summertavern.com
Located dkt ngan Clark Quay & near to MRT Station

One Florence Close http://www.oneflorenceclose.com/rates.html <http://www.oneflorenceclose.com/rates.html>
located in Kovan area (near Hougang) tapi convenient as the MRT line dekat jer. 15 mins jer nak naik MRT ke Orchard Road Area.

The Betel Box Backpacker Hostel http://www.betelbox.com/index.htm <http://www.betelbox.com/index.htm>

3 STAR HOTELS

TAKE ME THERE

GETTING AROUND IN SINGAPORE

Singapore Public Transport is convenient and very good. You can choose to move around taking the MRT, Busses or Taxi (though Taxi rates are a bit pricey).
If you're going to be in Singapore for a few days and will be moving around a lot, then I suggest for you to buy the Tourist Pass or the normal EZ-link card.
These card gives you good discount when taking the MRT or Busses.

More information on the ez-link card can be found here.
http://www.thesingaporetouristpass.com/ <http://www.thesingaporetouristpass.com/> (Siapa beli Tourist Pass pun ada special promotion comes with it!)
http://www.ezlink.com.sg/index.html <http://www.ezlink.com.sg/index.html>

Public Buses available in Singapore:
http://www.smrtbuses.com.sg/ebusguide/busguide.asp
http://www.sbstransit.com.sg

TAXI

Sekarang ni byk operator Taxi available...semua harga lebih kurang..
tapi kalau naik yg Maxicab (7 seater) selalunya mmg mahal sket.

YOUR HAND ITCHING TO BUY SOMETHING?

SHOP... SHOP ... SHOP.. TILL YOU DROP

Best time to shop in Singapore is during the GSS (Great Singapore Sales) kerana masa ni, byk Sales going on ... and byk juga promotion2 di adakan dan for the last couple of years, ada promosi 50% for all tourist attraction dan juga pada harga RM.
But then.. if you can't make it during the GSS period, then the next best time is between Nov & Jan .. kerana masa tu, Christmas sale tgh hangat, then di ikuti post X'mas sales, diikuti New Year Sale/Chinese New Year sale.

Di mana nak dpt good bargain & barangan yg di cari??

MUSTAFA CENTER
http://www.mustafa.com.sg/index.asp

TAKASHIMAYA / NGEE ANN CITY
http://www.takashimaya-sin.com/index-sg.html <http://www.takashimaya-sin.com/index-sg.html>
di building ni, byk branded outlets such as Ralph, Gucci, Zara,
Takashimaya departmental store always have good bargains and promotions and one can never be dissapointed with what can be found here!

ORCHARD ROAD
cuba ketahanan diri berjalan dari hujung ke hujung Orchard Road.... 1 shopping mall to another...
I bet you will have an aching feet by the end of the road... heheheheh

LUCKY PLAZA / FAR EAST PLAZA
a shopping mall similar to Sungei Wang or BB Plaza.
Lot's of food stall that serve Indonesian Food, and halal Chinese Cuisine.
and for those that loves parfume a small cart right opposite McDonalds at Lucky Plaza sells them at very reasonable prices and also sells the tester pack at unbelievable prices!

PARCO BUGIS/BUGIS VILLAGE
At Bugis village you'll get great bargains with a sense of pasar malam spirit.

PASAR GEYLANG SERAI
Untuk yg nak cari pakaian, baju kurung, kain pelikat, blouse, tudung2, dan etc.. this is the best bargain hunt.
make sure you pergi hujung minggu (sat or Sun) kerana this is when there are a lot of make-shift tents selling blouses and etc at prices as long as S$2/pc.

CHINATOWN / CHINATOWN WALK
Great bargains along the strecth of stalls near Chinatown MRT. A great collection of souvenirs to get from here....

TOA PAYOH NEIGHBOURHOOD
this is another shopping area in the housing estate of Toa Payoh, you will get great bargains here if you rajin enough to hunt.
Swatch is cheaper prived here.

ISLAM DI SINGAPURA

Contrary to a lot of non-Singaporean beliefs, Islam tak pernah di ambil ringan di Singapura.

Untuk mengetahu lebih mengenai community Islam  & kegiatan KeIslaman di Singapura, bolehlah melayari website2 ini;

well..

http://www.muis.gov.sg/cms/services/MosqueLSummaryDL.aspx

Causeway Point
Jurong Point
National University Hostpital
PUB Building
IMM Building
Singapore General Hospital
Centerpoint
Far East Plaza

just to name a few.  I used to keep a list but have somehow misplaced the list. Insya'allah kalau akak jumpa akan akak expand the places of the mushollah.

Sebaiknya, the best thing is to ask pekerja2 di sana jika ada disediakan tempat sholat ataupun di mana masjid terdekat ngan kawasan anda berada.
Wallahualam...
