Victoria Beckham continues to use her fame for the better as she donates 25 of three-year-old daughter Harper's designer outfits to raise funds for Save the Children
She's touted as one of the most stylish tots in the world - and now Victoria Beckham is giving fashion fans the chance to snap up an outfit from her daughter Harper's wardrobe. The fashion designer and mother-of-four has picked 25 specially curated outfits from her three-year-old daughter's wardrobe to sell as part of Save the Children’s Fashion Saves Lives sale. The complete outfits - including outerwear and shoes - have been put together by the perennially chic style icon and include items from designers such as Chloe, Roksanda Ilincic, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Charlotte Olympia.
Proving that she's using her status as one of the globe's most famous women for the better, one hundred per cent of the money raised will go towards Save the Children’s work to end child deaths from preventable causes by 2030. Prices will start at £250 for a dress and shoes and go up to £500 for complete outfits. Victoria is pictured curating each outfit in this never-before-seen picture of her in her office, which she has released to promote the charitable initiative.
This isn't the first time that Victoria has used her name for the better. In August last year the fashion designer sold more than 600 items from her own wardrobe for charity. Victoria partnered with The Outnet to sell hundreds of her items of her clothing in aid of the charity, mothers2mothers. In February 2014, following an invitation from Vogue editor Anna Wintour and American Vogue to visit South Africa, Victoria met with mothers2mothers (m2m) founder Dr. Mitch Besser. The charity trains, employs and empowers Mentor Mothers, who are mothers living with HIV, in order to educate them on how to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to babies and improve the health of women and their families. Victoria was so moved by the experience that she wanted to do all she could to raise money and awareness.
In September, Victoria told how she wanted to make a difference to the women of the world as she was made a UN goodwill ambassador for an AIDS charity. The former Spice Girl told a press conference at the United Nations building in New York that she was ‘honoured’ to be made an ambassador for their UNAIDS campaign. Beckham – who missed the opening of her London store to be there – said she felt her public profile meant she had a duty to do more about woman’s health. She has also long been involved with her good friend Elton John's AIDS Foundation. 'For some reason people will listen to me. This is the beginning of an incredible journey for me,' she said.
In between running her popular fashion brand and raising her family, Victoria is currently focussed on raising awareness for Save the Children. Currently 17,000 children die every day from preventable causes such as pneumonia and malaria due to a lack of adequate health services. Save the Children is backing a campaign to ensure that at the UN summit in September world leaders make a commitment to ensure that by 2030, every child has the basic healthcare that they need to survive - no matter who or where they are. Fronted by Save the Children ambassadors Erin O’Connor and Mary Portas, the Fashion Saves Lives sale will be sold on the Mary’s Living & Giving eBay store for Save the Children for a ten day period from 18th - 28th June and Harper's beautiful outfits will be available for the public to buy at the Mary’s Living & Giving shop for Save the Children in Primrose Hill, London from 10am on Thursday 18th June. Prepare for a stylish stampede.
