Geng2 Linux On Laptop/Notebook

Okey, aku orang baru kat sini.Just nak kumpul pengguna yang install Linux on their laptop/notebook.
Boleh share pengalaman? |

aku install freebsd kat ACER Travelmate 370. dual boot dgn winxp. |
|
|
|
|

Aku x ade laptop/notebook so x leh nk install ape2 OS kes kes kes... |

Setau aku, kalau nak main2 dengan Linux atau BSD, Laptop Dell bukanlah pilihan yang baik sebab Dell punya custom Bios menyusahkan.
Linux apa yang paling serasi dengan laptop user especially advanced power management dan native infrared/Bluetooth support? |

aku pakai fedora,dual boot jugak.
dulu aku pakai suse,tapi tak cantik hehe
so aku tukar pd fedora,baru jer abis install tadik..
tgh test.
booting laju,tadek amsalah,aku pakai hyundai m life
nampaknya dier detect semua hardware,usb ngan bluetooth bila aku start cucuh sumer tu...
detect firewire port,detect external infrared..
baguss...
tapi satu jer dier tak detect:
usb lan aku!!!
dier cuma detect network card je ,tp masalahnya network card aku rosak,
aku pakai USB LAN skrg ni!
huwaaaa...hancur berkecai harapanku
so aku switch boot to xp balik
tgh carik solution la ni.....saper tau pm aku please...

fuh, aku buta Solaris. tak reti apa2. Solaris support Intel cpu ke?
Masalah utama ialah aku ni mobile Internet user. Skarang aku pakai DiGi EDGE dapat about 110KBps, maybe nak tukar kepada Maxis atau Celcom 3.5G HSDPA, dengan menggunakan pcmcia 3G card. masalahnya card itu tak support Linux (kalau tak silap aku). So aku kene dail guna infrared lah (to my Nokia N70 as wireless 3G modem). Soalan aku, boleh ke Linux laptop dail up Nokia phone as infrared/Bluetooth modem?

aku pernah istall solaris bebaru ni...pening skit nak explore interface dia.
GUI di tak lah cantik...kurang minat aku nak pakai OS nih..aku try boleh jalan atas Intel P4 HD 80GB dan RAM 1GB haku...huhuhuhuhu |

aku ada gak guna linux.. fedora core 3.. tapi sejak akhir2 ni malas nak layan.. linux ni best kalau ada pasang internet jek ngan LAN.. memang best..macam2 skill bleh try...by the way, elok la blaja2..senang beb.. |

aku install Slackware 10.2 ok je ngan laptop baru.. dan juga FreeBSD 6.0.. support sampai processor latest.. mcm turion etc2  |

Aku suka main2 dengan Puppy Linux. Best gak. Aku try Live CD. Katakanlah Windows kau tak boleh boot sebab rosak atau virus, kau boleh guna Puppy Linux Live CD untuk copy from NTFS partition ke dalam CDRW atau USB pen drive. |

ubuntu is installed on an ibm r51. should work begin from 5.10. currently running ubuntu dapper 6.06. dapper work ok, but wireless not tested. wireless work fine if use only wep or no encryption on 5.10. but with some problem with on wpa. dapper have wireless manager that might help. but not tested yet.
linux debian 3.1 works well, but have problem with wireless. need to installed manually. but the debian testing should work. with wireless.
main problem with linux on laptop. is mostly wireless. unless, you use nvidia graphics on your laptop, then graphics can be a problem too. r51 uses intel extreme graphic. so no problem with x server support. |
