aku ada terbaca satu artikel selalunya Pihak german '' KG200 '' buat penghantaran Bahan Mentah, Spy, Teknologi Ke Jepun Melalui Jalan Udara (Perjalanan Merentas Benua Asia Singgah Sekejap di Manchuria) tak pernah dengar pakai U-Boat

From what I read , 2 Italian U boats nie were mainly transport U-boats yang bawak material from Japanese controlled far east and back...one of the Italian U-boats nie was sunin the Malacca Straits by a British Submarine..

Under an agreement with the Germans,signed before the September 1943 surrender, 5 large Italian submarines had been converted into cargo carying vessels capable of making the long journey on the surface, the aim for them to go first to Abang in Sumatera and then to Singapore. Leaving La Pallice at spaced intervals, the Italian Submaine Capellini sailed first , followed by Tanzeli on 16 May, Giuliani on 23 May, Torrelli on 14 June and Barbarigo on 15 June. They carried neither guns nor torpedoes.
All submarines left the French port under German names for this was a German operation. They would take out U-boat supplies to the base in Penang and bring back desperately needed supplies of tin,cotton and rubber. The maximum amount of cargo the submarines could carry was in the region of 150 tonnes on the outward journey and 190 tons on the return journey.
Only 3 submarines made it to the far east, for Tazzoli and Barbarigo were probably sunk by allied aicraft in the Bay of Biscalon the first day out.
During the long and tedious journey all the surviving submariness were spotted by allied aircraft but managed to take evasive action and reach thier destination.Cappellini on 9 July, Giuliani on 30 July and Torrelli on 26 August.

When Italy signed the armistice on 8 September 1944 , the war was over for the Italian submarines. All 3 were interned by the Germans, Giuliani was recommisioned was UIT-23 and lost on 14 February 1944 after being torpodoed in the Malacca Straits by the Submarine HMS Tally Ho. The other two submarines were handed over tothe Japanese and both of them were sunked by US forces off Kobe in 1945.

You mean the Kampfgeschwader 200 /"KG200" (Battle wing) squadron...the special Lufawaffe squadron yang operate capture Allied aircraft
...K200 used captured B-17 flying Fotresses and B-24 Liberator bombers on secret missions deep in allied territory..The germans had 7 captured B-17s operating in KG200. KG200 also operated other heavy german aircraft , including the Focke Wulf Condor.

Its KG200 actually.
Macam sekarang, tak semua peralatan boleh dibawa melalui udara.
One case in point, Jerman ada menghantar pelan dan airframe Messerchmitt Me 163 Komet kepada Jepun. Uboat yang membawa pelan tenggelam dalam perjalanan. Jadi pihak Jepun terpaksa reverse engineer airframe Komet tadi untuk menghasilkan J8M Shusui. |

Intereseting Here:
The German U-boat base in penang was PULAU JEREJAK.
I passed through there yesterday and the wharf of U-boat base now is a new wharf for ship building on the island i think.
The U-boat which come to Penang was called Monsoon Boat. |

Ohh,
Actucally the U-boat carrying the Me262 engine and blue print was U-864, sunk on the way to Penang.
Then, U-859 successfuly approached Penang and surfaced, the crews all set up for a shore visit but was ambushed by HMS Tally Ho. Sunk near Penang and the wreck is still there. The cargo is the Mercury for Japan!
I done a lot of research on these all.... |

So, Pulau Jerjak was once the naval base for German U-Boats, 3 of 'em subs altogether.
Interesting ....
Though, I do wonder, did RMN plan acquiring 3 subs (2 operational subs - Scorpene, 1 training sub - Agosta) actually has a bearing with the U-Boat history in Malaya beforehand? |

AS you can see,
Mallacca Strait was very unsuitable for submarine operation because its too shallow.
Many many submarines were sunk in Mallacca Strait during WW2 because they can visible easily or the mud thrown by the sub made the aircraft easily to spot them and sink them |
