Hoki indoor capai dua tujuan asas
PERMAINAN hoki dalam dewan tertutup atau hoki indoor boleh mencapai dua tujuan iaitu memulakan pembangunan hoki di peringkat akar umbi dan menyemai kemahiran asas pada peringkat kumpulan umur.
Pengurus Kejurulatihan dan Kepegawaian Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) R Vivekanandan berkata hoki indoor akan menjadi pemangkin untuk mengembangkan bakat asas di peringkat akar umbi dan mengasah kemahiran dalam sukan itu.
揥alaupun hoki indoor masih di peringkat awal di Malaysia, kaedah itu digunakan secara berkesan oleh kebanyakan negara sebagai alat untuk memikat minat kanak-kanak menceburi sukan itu.

Azuan guides Penang Free to win
A BRACE by Mohd Azuan Makni enabled Penang Free School to down hosts Mutiara Impian Sports School 2-0 to lift the inaugural PSHA-MISS Penang Indoor Hockey Championship 2008 schools category title in Simpang Empat on Friday.
After a scoreless first half, PFS took the lead through Mohd Azuan's solo effort midway into the second-half despite being a man down and against the run of play.
Mutiara battled hard for the equaliser and in the process left their defence unguarded which allowed Mohd Azuan to score a second.
In the girls' competition, Mutiara Impian Sports School Blacks clinched the title when they beat all of their six opponents in a round-robin league play-off.
Mutiara Impian Reds took the silver while SMK Guar Perahu settled for the bronze. -- K. KANDIAH |
