A Facebook post by Wynn Tan, recently went viral and sparked anger amongst netizens as a careless mother jeopardized her toddler son’s safety all for the sake of a parking spot.
The mother was so intend on reserving a parking spot in MBE Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park in Kuala Lumpur that she resorted to placing her young child in the hot parking lot for nearly half hour.
Yes, it’s a common problem that we Malaysians face – looking for parking spots – but risking your son’s safety by leaving him under the scorching sun and unattended for almost half an hour is insane.
It is evident that Wynn was clearly disturbed by the sight of the young boy sitting all alone in the caption accompanying her Facebook posting.
“To the mother’s whose brain is damaged: to see your son like that just to reserve a parking spot, you threw him alone for 20 minutes.
“At first I thought he lost his parents, who knew the mom said it was because she wanted him to reserve the parking spot for her.”
Wynn ended the caption by stating that the woman has failed at being a mother and her brain must’ve'masuk air' (mental capabilities malfunction).
Within just a short period of time, the Facebook post received thousands of likes and shares, with other irked netizens expressing their displeasure filled with indignation.
“Such people exists, leave the child just to reserve a spot. Get air-conditioning in the car by herself, throw her own son burnt by the sun. Is this right!”, one evidently agitated netized asked.
Another netizen sarcastically reminded the woman that the apple usually doesn’t fall far from the tree, “The mother is awesome! You won’t get old doing this? When your son grows up, he will learn your actions too, how will you feel then?”.
But the poor boy’s safety too was addressed by netizens as one commented, “He’s so small and sitting there. What if someone thought it was an empty space and immediately went to park there? Worst, what if he gets kidnapped?”.
