FIA does change the rules to stop ferrari domination but I think they also help ferrari a bit after the rules changed. Just look in 2003 season, how the new point system (which is currently use) help schumacher to win his 4th driver championship. If they just stick to the old point system, that year will be totally owned by kimi. Maybe it just coincidence, but for me, if the team is in their best form, no rules can stop them from winning.

f1 can't afford to lose ferrari's participation

there's one time ferrari threaten to quit f1 and join champcar because of engine spec change rom v12 to v10, then fia let them use the v12

but recent rule changes is all because of ferrari domination, starting with that stupid tyre regulation , then the points, then that stupid qualifying changes, etc blah blah blah

Yeah.... glad that tyre rules are back to normal. I just wonder how will hamilton deal with this one set of tyre per race rules. Just look at China last season.

yeah...i think the groove tyres that are use now look much better than the full slick. So after this, the tyres use in A1, GP2 and F1 will  just look the same.

I had read somewhere last season that after this the engine must last for 5 races. I don't know whether the rules will be apply or not. Anyone heard this news before?

Or is it the gearbox that must last for 5 races. I'm confuse.

Gene fears Renault are sandbagging
Ferrari test driver Marc Gene is concernedthat Renault and Fernando Alonso may have been sandbagging duringrecent winter tests.

While Ferrari and McLaren have dominated the timesheets in thebuild-up to the season, Renault have often found themselves just insidethe top six, roughly half a second off the pace.

But while this may be of some concern to Alonso's fans, Genereckons it's his rivals who need be more worried as the Spaniard andhis team could be hiding their true pace.

"We will see what happens with Fernando (Alonso) and whether the surprise at the Australian GP comes from Renault," he said.

"Although in the tests they have not been on top, they alreadyknew in April last year that their car wasn't working and turned theirattention to 2008.

"erhaps we are seeing a wolf in sheep's clothing and Fernando will be in front."

Alonso, though, will face some stiff competition from Ferrari asGene claims the F2008 could win the World titles for the Scuderia.

"I believe we are going to have a good car but we'll have to see how the others do," he told Spanish daily Marca.

"The atmosphere (within in the team) has improved as Ferrari wonthe title in 2007 and therefore aren't under as much pressure as lastyear when there were a lot of uncertainties."
