255 remaja rebut boling Piala Shalin
KUALA LUMPUR - Seramai 255 remaja bawah 15 tahun mengambil bahagian pada Kejohanan Boling Piala Shalin 2007 di sini, semalam.
Kejohanan tahunan yang buat pertama kalinya diadakan di Pusat Boling Pin Junction itu dibahagikan kepada empat kategori iaitu bawah 12 tahun dan 15 tahun.
Kebanyakan pemain datang dari seluruh negara dan terdapat juga dari Indonesia dan Australia.
Menurut pemilik pusat boling tersebut, Shalin Zulkifli, objektif kejohanan tersebut untuk mencungkil bakat-bakat baru dalam sukan itu.
憫Saya menganggap kejohanan ini sebagai batu loncatan kepada pencarian bakat baru dalam sukan boling dan melahirkan pemain yang hebat untuk mewakili skuad negara,拻 kata Shalin yang juga atlet boling negara di sini, semalam.
Kejohanan tersebut yang sebelum ini diadakan di Pusat Boling Sunway Pyramid telah melahirkan ramai jaguh boling muda Asia Tenggara antaranya Wan Nur Atiqqa Yusof (Malaysia), Shalima Zalsha (Indonesia) dan Tannya Roumimper (Indonesia).

Bowling: Alex caps achievement by winning Selangor Super Classic

PETALING JAYA: Bowler Alex Liew started the year with a bang by becoming the first Malaysian male bowler to win the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) Tour Grand Finals title in Jakarta last January.
And it was Alex again who rounded off an excellent year for Malaysia in bowling by bagging the CCM Selangor Super Classic title at the Ampang Superbowl in Summit USJ yesterday.
The 32-year-old southpaw emerged as the champion in the three-day tournament, beating Doha Asian Games silver medallist Putty Armein of Indonesia 236-186 in the second stepladder match.
he top Indonesian female bowler needed to win the second match to secure the title but her chances faded away after Alex rolled five consecutive strikes from the fourth frame.
Putty had won the first stepladder match in thrilling fashion, beating Alex 50-40 in the second frame of sudden death.
Both bowlers scored identical 235 after the first stepladder match and were tied again on 39-all after the first frame of sudden death.
Alex showed impressive form to top the field of 30 bowlers in the semi-finals with a total of 2,231. Putty finished second on 2,148 ahead of Selangor's Ahmad Hairohman (2,147) and Singaporean Jeremy Fang (2,129) to qualify for the top-four stepladder Finals.
Alex qualified for the semi-finals in fourth spot. The other national bowlers did not make the cut after a 20-game round robin competition with Daniel Lim in 34the place followed by Mohd Noer Said (41st), Shalin Zulkifli (44th), Syahereza Fajrin (58th), Zandra Aziela (66th) and Wan Nur Atiqqa (76th).
Alex, who picked up a handsome winner's cheque of RM20,000 for his efforts, said that it was a good way to finish off the year.
Putty received RM10,000 as the runner-up.
揑t was not a good SEA Games outing for me (in Bangkok recently) because I settled for two silver medals (singles and team), |
