Lee Min Jung, wife of Lee Byung Hun, officially announces her pregnancy through MS Team Entertainment

Source: Koreaboo

On January 19, MS Team Entertainment announced that actress Lee Min Jung and her husband, actor Lee Byung Hun, will finally be parents! Min Jung is currently 27 weeks pregnant and the baby is expected to be due in April 2015.

The agency released the statement as follows:

“We would like to announce that Lee Min Jung is currently 27 weeks pregnant.

The fact that a wife is now the mother of her child is something to be congratulated, but due to recent events, we were cautious in announcing this news to the public, for the sake of the well-being of the mother. Thus, we put a lot of thought in deciding the best time to announce this news.

Please understand the inevitable delay in the announcement.

Lee Min Jung has said, ‘I would like to thank everyone who was concerned for me in light of recent events. I thought long and hard, but decided to work hard and do my best for my family. I will try to be the best and show the best I can to those who have watched and waited for me patiently,’ expressing her thanks and regret to her fans.

We wish that everyone can congratulate and send their blessings to Min Jung, who is taking her first step as a mother.

The estimated time of birth is in April and she plans to stay in Korea and get ready for the child.”

The happy news follows the trying months preceding it, as Lee Byung Hun was, until recently, entangled in legal battles against GLAM’s Dahee and model Lee Ji Yeon. The disputes came to an end on January 15th and now it seems the couple can fully focus on preparing for the birth of their child.

Congratulations to Min Jung and Byung Hun on becoming parents!

Lee Byung Hun's acting, will it save his reputation?

Source: Koreaboo

Recently, Lee Byung Hun was deep within the ‘”five million dollar controversy.” His reputation has since deteriorated since then, which ponders the question, will his acting save him?

Earlier on in January 15th, Lee Byung Hun’s “five million dollar controversy” came to an end with the two female defendants, Lee Ji Yeon and Dahee, being sentenced to prison time.

According to the results, the court had definitely raised Lee Byung Hun’s hands in victory. Lee Ji Yeon’s excuses were not accepted by the court. Instead, all of Lee Byung Hun’s opinions were accepted.

Despite the end of the case and Lee Byung Hun winning the case, the media is still busy talking about Lee Byung Hun. Near the end of case, the court mentions Lee Byung Hun’s fault in the case. They stated, “Although the victim, Lee Byung Hun, is to be recognized as victim of case, despite being a man with family he meddled with younger women; he provided the source of the controversy itself with his sexual jokes.” Through this statement, Lee Byung Hun’s loss of reputation is still in motion despite his win.

Some described Lee Byung Hun’s controversy to be his “worst crisis” since his debut in the industry. But, during his twenty four years of acting career, Lee Byung Hun had never disappointed the audience in terms of his acting. Three movies featuring Lee Byung Hun are in standby, and the reactions from the audience for the movies are a mystery at this point.

In addition to this, it is questionable whether or not if his reputation can be recovered through his upcoming movies. His movies all show different sides of him, and it may just be enough to turn the situation around.

The first movie that is in standby is Terminator Genisys, the fifth of the series. Lee Byung Hun is featured as an antagonist in the film fighting a war against humanity as Skynet in the year 2029. The movie is planned to be released on July 2015.

Due to this controversy, the movie, Swords Women (Memories of The Sword), delayed its release. In addition, The Insiders, also delayed its release, and both movies are still in discussion for their release dates. The staff is positive that the movie will be released in the year 2015.

The Insiders takes the controversy and corruption in the South Korean society due to its media, court, and gangsters. Lee Byung Hun takes the role of Ahn Sang Gu, a gangster heavily influencing the government.

Swords Women takes place in the lands of Koryo in the ends of its time. In this movie, Lee Byung Hun takes the role of an antagonist (Duk Gi) looking to take over the throne as a son of a concubine. The movie was more special at its announcement since it had been fourteen years since Lee Byung Hun had acted with Jeon Do Yeon.

The three movies all ended their filming already and finished preparations. According to staff, they can assure the public that Lee Byung Hun’s acting should be highly expected. Lee Byung Hun is expected to play three different characters with distinctive colors in different genres as well. It’s up to the public to decide whether or not Lee Byung Hun’s deteriorating reputation will take its turn through the release of these movies.

by Nancy Z Dramafever.com

Lee Min Jung is 27 weeks pregnant. She and husband Lee Byung Hun are expecting their baby in April. The surprising news was just released on January 19.

The announcement came on January 19 via Lee Min Jung's agency MSTeam Entertainment. Through her agency, Lee Min Jung said, "I first want to thank everyone who were concerned about the recent issues. Despite my worries, I am going to stay determined and strong for the family. I will try my best to not disappoint those who have waited and looked out for me all this time.”

It hasn't been easy for Lee Min Jung for the past few months. As we retrace the timeline, she was probably already pregnant when the scandalous news about Lee Byung Hun hit. It explains MSTeam Entertainment's carefully worded announcement as follows:

“It’s a blessing to be welcoming a baby into a family, but we were initially hesitant to announce this, due to the recent unfortunate circumstances. We also had to take her condition into consideration before revealing the news about her pregnancy. Please understand why we had to be careful about revealing her pregnancy to the public.”

The press release concluded with a plea, "“Please send blessings and encouragement with a warm heart to Lee Min Jung, who is taking her first step toward becoming a mother.”

Lee Min Jung will be staying in South Korea for the rest of her pregnancy as she prepares for the baby's birth. The above photo is from a photo shoot she did a few years ago. She definitely looks cute and happy with a baby. The press release did not mention what her baby's gender is or whether the expectant parents know about the gender.

Congratulations to Lee Min Jung and Lee Byung Hyun, and we sincerely hope for a happy new year for the couple as they move forward to a new phase of their family life.

Lotte Grabs Korean Rights on Lee Byung-hun's 'Terminator: Genisys'

Sonia Kil Variety

SEOUL — South Korean rights to Paramount Pictures’ “Terminator: Genisys,” have been picked up by Lotte Entertainment, the second largest vertically integrated film concern in South Korea.

The move follows Paramount’s unusual decision earlier this month to unpick a previously-advertised deal with CJ Entertainment, its regular sub-distributor in the country, and Korea’s dominant film group.

South Korea is a key territory for the movie as top Korean star Lee Byung-hun plays a major role as a shape-shifting T-1000 android.

"'T5' is set to open in Korea in July, 2015,” said Lotte in a statement on Wednesday. “We confirm that Lotte Entertainment has taken over Korean distribution rights to ‘T5’ as of 28 January. We apologize for any confusion caused.”

Earlier CJ said that the decision had been made by Paramount alone, and that it was not connected to a recent sex and blackmail scandal that has tarnished Lee’s name in Korea.

As an investor in the Hemisphere Tentpole Co-financing Fund, Lotte has previously had access to a small number of other Paramount-released titles, including “World War Z” in 2013. “This case is different from ‘WWZ,’ as we only signed up for ‘T5’’s domestic distribution and marketing this time,” Lotte told Variety. The spokesman declined to elaborate on whether the deal marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between Lotte and Paramount, but confirmed that the “T5” deal was only completed in the evening of Tuesday (Jan. 27).

Lotte is also set to release another Lee-starring picture, the Korean-made “Memories of the Sword,” which remains undated. “We decided to release ‘T5’ first, as its North American release date has been firmly settled and we will set the local release to fit it,” said Lotte.

Scheduled to be released in North America on July 1, “T5” is the fifth installment in the “Terminator” series, and is said to reset the series as a sequel, prequel, and reboot of the original story. Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role.

Terminator: Genisys' releases Super Bowl spot trailer
The new installment opens in theaters July 1.

By Annie Martin UPI

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Emilia Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger star in a new trailer for Terminator: Genisys.

The upcoming fifth installment released a Super Bowl spot teaser early Thursday morning. The preview sees Sarah Connor (Clarke) and the Terminator (Schwarzenegger) team up against a new T-800 (Aaron V. Williamson) and a T-1000 (Lee Byung-hun).

Terminator: Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor, and will serve as a sequel, prequel and reboot to the first four movies. The film also stars Jason Clarke as John Connor, who sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to protect mother Sarah.

Clarke is best known for portraying Daenerys Targaryen on HBO drama Game of Thrones. The program is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, and will return for a fifth season April 12.

Schwarzenegger appeared as the Terminator in the first three installments, and was replaced by computer graphics in Terminator Salvation. The actor last starred as Trench Mauser in The Expendables 3, and is scheduled for Twins sequel Triplets.

Meet the New T-1000 in 'Terminator: Genisys'

by Ada Tseng | XFINITY ASIA

Last week, the new trailer for the fifth and latest installment of the “Terminator” sci-fi action franchise was revealed, and Korean actor Lee Byung-hun is seen as a deadly, shapeshifting metal T-1000 — iconic blade hands and all.

“Terminator: Genisys,” the new film directed by Alan Taylor and set to be released July 2015, is set in the year 2029. Part sequel and part reboot, this version recasts all the main characters (“Zero Dark Thirty‘s” Jason Clarke is John Connor and “Game of Throne‘s” Emilia Clarke is Sarah Connor), other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, who returns as T-800, the main killer robot character he made famous in the original 1984 film.

In “Genisys,” John Connor leads the fight against the deadly machines, and this time around, the artificial intelligence system Skynet is threatening to take down mankind on two fronts, past and future. John Connor sends his lieutenant Kyle Reese (“Divergent‘s” Jai Courtney) back in time to defend his mother, Sarah.

In 1992′s ”Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” the T-1000 was played by Robert Patrick. In the new version, Korean actor Lee Byung-hun takes over the role. Lee is most known to American audiences for his role of Storm Shadow in 2009′s “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and 2013′s “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” He also had a role in “Red 2.”

In Korea, Lee is one of the country’s biggest stars, having worked in the film and television industry for over two decades. He has been a household name since he starred in 2000′s “Joint Security Area,” a Park Chan-wook North Korea/South Korea border film that broke the Korean box office record at the time. The movie won numerous Best Film awards, and Lee also won the Pusan Film Critics Award for Best Actor. He worked with Park again in “Three Extremes,” a collection of three Asian extreme horror short films.

He’s also known for his successful collaborations with director Kim Jee-woon, who worked with Lee in the Korean mob picture “A Bittersweet Life;” the Korean western film “The Good, the Bad, and the Weird;” and the violent revenge film “I Saw the Devil.” All three Two films screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Among mainstream Korean film and television fans, Lee is known as a bad-Richard Simmons leading man equally capable of depicting heroism and villainy with his emotional depth, martial art skills and impressively sculpted abdominal muscles, which are quite cinematic in themselves. See his “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” training video below.

We’re looking forward to seeing Lee battle it out with Schwarzenegger in “Terminator: Genisys,” what may be Lee’s highest-profile international film yet!

Lee Byung-hun in 'Terminator Genisys' Super Bowl trailer

Actor Lee Byung-hun has appeared in the official 30-second trailer of the highly anticipated film “Terminator Genisys,” scheduled to be aired on Feb. 2 during the Super Bowl, the biggest annual sports event in the United States.

Paramount Pictures prereleased the trailer on YouTube Thursday. Lee is shown in action as the new villain T-1000, a shape-shifting newer Terminator model, alongside world-famous stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke.

Lee is expected to garner further international spotlight for his role, given that the Super Bowl, the annual championship game of the U.S. National Football League, is watched by 1 billion spectators around the world and 100 million people in the U.S. alone.

The Super Bowl trailer testifies to Hollywood’s high stakes on the upcoming film. Placing an advertisement during the Super Bowl is said to cost over 400 million won per second and companies often fight to buy ad time during the game.

Directed by Alan Taylor, “Terminator: Genisys” is the fifth installment of the popular Terminator series. The film depicts the struggle to save humanity by the reprogrammed old Terminator, which fights against the villains sent from the future -- the new model Terminator and the T-1000, played by Lee.

The movie will hit theatres worldwide on July 1.

Terminator Genisys Super Bowl Trailer: 25 Things You Need To See

Now that’s how you make an entrance.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, Paramount released their big game teaser for the upcoming new addition to the Terminator franchise, slimming down the already released material and splicing in some new footage, including a nostalgic shot of the new villain walking menacingly through a fireball.

Inevitably, given that the extended first trailer landed not so long ago, this big game spot is a parred down version of that: sleeker, tighter and far less showy. But that in no way compromises the impact, even if the film already has its detractors.

The teaser makes a smart statement: setting up expectations that the film will be heavily retro-influenced but also a new starting point, and rather than selling the future where humanity fights from the shadows, this is more focussed on Sarah Connor as the new, bad-ass heroine of the piece. And that is very good news…

Five Favorite Moments From Terminator Genisys' Super Bowl Trailer

By Andrew Steinbeiser ComicBook.com

Paramount Pictures has released their official Super Bowl trailer for Terminator: Genisys, which gives viewers the latest detail-packed look at the iconic robot action-thriller. Even with its short run-time, the trailer packed enough tantalizing content to make the wait between now and the film's summer release all the more painful.

Below, we run through the trailer’s biggest and best moments, of which there were plenty. Indeed we’ll definitely be back when Genisys hits the big screen.

1) Young Arnold Schwarzenegger

IMAGE

The trailer made us love the eighties all over again with a de-aged version of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his digitally-edited prime. Of course, young Arnold’s inclusion raises as many questions as it does thrills. How will he fit in with the older, grayer Arnold who's headlining the film? Is he a relic of the original franchise’s Terminators, or sent from another future?

2) The New-And-Improved Terminator Cop

In another nostalgic throwback, the Super Bowl trailer teased a glimpse of a new Terminator sporting some policeman’s blues—and juggling metal blades sprung from his hands. The Terminator Cop from Terminator: Judgement Day’s got nothing on this new-and-improved human hunter. But we do have to ask: Why are Terminator's so obsessed with looking like cops? Fire fighters are cool, too, you know.

3) Flame Resistant Terminators

IMAGE

Speaking of fires...On top of Young Arnold, Old Arnold, and the blade juggling Terminator, we also got a glimpse of another insanely powered Terminator, who can trek through a spewing ball of flame and walk away untarnished. This could be the same Terminator model in the police uniform, but—what if he’s something even more powerful? The idea of a robot rumble between several different Terminator models practically makes us drool motor oil.

4) Hard-Core Connor

IMAGE

The new Sarah Connor that Kyle Reese finds in the past comes packed with more grit, gristle, and chips on her shoulder. Or didn’t you notice Connor brandishing a massive automatic weapon, flipping school a school buses, and saving Kyle Reese’s butt from a swan dive off of the Golden Gate Bridge? Connor was hardly the helpless victim the original Terminator franchise, but this version looks like she’ll run circles around her predecessor.

5) "l Be Back"

IMAGE

Honestly, how could the trailer not include one of the most recognizable lines in Hollywood history? And to have it come from Arnold himself—struggling through his vowels and all—was the excellent bit of fan service to get even the most casual Terminator fans giddy.

Lee Byung Hun holds a baby shower in the United States for wife Lee Min Jung

by Shelly M l Dramafever

Father-to-be Lee Byung Hun is so overjoyed about the upcoming birth of his child that he planned the whole baby shower for his wife. Lee Min Jung, who is 7 months pregnant, enjoyed the sweet party overseas, according to media outlet Newsen.

"I heard they held a baby shower in the U.S. recently," close associates of the couple said. "Lee Byung Hun planned it for Lee Min Jung, who is currently pregnant."

Their bundle of joy is due in April. Min Jung plans to give birth in her homeland of South Korea. She will return home around the Lunar New Year, February 19.

After being blackmailed for allegedly cheating on his wife, the IRIS actor is definitely trying to make it up to her in a big way. The court case probably took a toil on the Sly And Single Again actress, and he is making sure mommy and baby relax until the birth.

Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Dan Stevens to Star in 'Beyond Deceit' (Exclusive)
The thriller will mark the directorial debut of screenwriter Shintaro Shimosawa and also star Malin Akerman and Byung-hun Lee

by Borys Kit The Hollywood Reporter

Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Dan Stevens, Malin Akerman and Byung-hun Lee are in final negotiations to star in Beyond Deceit, a legal thriller that will mark the directorial debut of screenwriter Shintaro Shimosawa.

Veteran producer Jonathan Sanger, whose credits range from The Elephant Man and Flight of the Navigator to Vanilla Sky and The Producers, is producing the project which is being introduced to buyers at the European Film Market by Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International.

Written by Adam Mason and Simon Boyes with a rewrite by Shimosawa, the script tells of an ambitious young lawyer (Stevens) who takes on a big case against a ruthless executive of a pharmaceutical company, only to find himself drawn into a murder case in which he is the prime suspect.

Hopkins will play the big pharma exec while Pacino will play the head of the law firm who is also Stevens’ mentor. (Deceit will mark the first time the two screen legends will be in a movie together.)

Akerman will play Stevens’ ex-girlfriend who mysterious returns into his life while Lee acts as a hit man.

A March start in New Orleans is being planned.

The project is already generating interest on the domestic front and a deal is expected soon.

Shimosawa, who was a co-producer on The Grudge horror movies, worked in writer and producer capacities on TV thrillers such as The Ringer, which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Williamson’s The Following, and Intelligence, which starred Josh Holloway. He is repped by WME and Circle of Confusion.

Hopkins (UTA, Rick Nicita, Stone Meyer) has two films in the can, the action movie Autobahn that also stars Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones, and serial killer thriller Solace, with Colin Farrell.

Pacino (UTA, Rick Nicita, Hansen Jacobson) last starred in The Humbling, which Barry Levinson directed.

Stevens (WME, UK’s Julian Belfrage Associates) is the Downton Abbey breakout who last starred in the geek-favorite action thriller The Guest.

Akerman (WME, Sanders, Armstrong Caserta Management, Jackoway Tyerman) recently starred in the ABC comedy Trophy Wife.

Lee (CAA, BH Entertainment, McKuin Frankel) played Storm Shadow in the G.I. Joe movies and is playing a Terminator robot in this summer’s Terminator: Genisys.
