RM250k fine for illegal downloads
KUALA LUMPUR: If you download material illegally from the Internet, be prepared to fork out a minimum fine of RM250,000.

This is the warning from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to Malaysians who continue to illegally download songs, videos and the like.

Although this penalty was legislated more than 10 years ago under the Copyright Act 1987, it has yet to be fully enforced.

This was because the Government was still focusing on 損hysical enforcement

tak tau lah mcm mana dorang nak enforce kan ni... it's one thing kalau kau host illegal content, tapi downloading? boleh track ke.. boleh cater ke for volume of users multiply by volume of content downloaded...

masalahnya, kalau orang nak beli secara legal, some of the services/ content tu x de kat Msia..

contoh senang kalau nak download and buy from iTunes store for iPod, memang service tu not provided in Malaysia.. so how??? bukan x nak beli secara "halal" ek.. penat wa kasik feedback kat Apple US soh dia bukak iTunes store for Malaysia.. bila call Apple customer service yg kat KL ni, jawapan dia kasik lagi la hampeh: "dorang x trust Malaysian credit cards".. bley???? :@ :@ last last wa carik la mp4 for ipod downloadable from the net..
