US CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN!!

ALL MUSLIMS IN THE WORLD ANGERED BY ABU GHRAIB PRISONER-ABUSE SCANDAL

A GOOD number of worldwide's Muslims, long unhappy with the United States' policy in Iraq, would have been angered further by the images of abuse at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison.

Indeed, there are four main reasons for the current anger towards the US
and, more especially, the current administration.

First:
It concerns the deceit and dishonesty surrounding the arguments relating to the invasion;

Second:
It is the US' moral self-righteousness - its self-professed "civilising" mission in the Middle East especially the Islamic world.

Third:
It is the element of hypocrisy now the abuses have been uncovered!!!

Fourth:
It is the lack of trust and confidence in US President George W Bush's
leadership.

The others said:
"The Americans have disgraced themselves by flaunting the values they purport to uphold."

"These are crimes against humanity. The people have been shocked by the depths to which Americans can sink."

"The basis on which the US went to war revolved on three broad arguments:
The presence of weapons of mass destruction; the wish to introduce democracy and free markets; and the desire to free the Iraqi people from a dictatorial regime BUT厖 There are no signs of the weapons, democracy seems to have receded into the future and - after the discovery of the systematic torture and abuse of Iraqi prisoners - the moral justification for the invasion is sounding very, very hollow indeed."

"The tragedy at Abu Ghraib has undermined the collective effort to push forward democracy and the rule of law in the Middle East. Sorry to say, the Americans are not practising what they preach. In fact, they are now in danger of eroding people's confidence in these universal values."

"The Americans have shown themselves as hypocrites. They have lost their moral leadership and are tainted. They must work hard to resurrect their reputation. However, words alone are not enough, the US must prove their sincerity through their actions."

"US President George W Bush symbolises all these evil deeds. He is responsible for the collapse of American legitimacy. Moreover as commander-in-chief, the President is ultimately responsible for the acts of his troops."

Conclusion:
Before the invasion of Afghanistan, the Muslims of this region has never been virulently anti-US. In fact, the US' staunch anti-communist stance during the Cold-War years earned it considerable goodwill in the region, especially from conservative Muslim forces.

The recent beheading of American contractor Nick Berg by his unresponsible Iraqi captors and the suicide car-bombing yesterday which killed current Iraqi Governing Council president Izzedine Salim made most Muslims react with horror and revulsion.

Most westernised Muslims, feel deep disappointment - if not betrayal - in the way the US has placed itself above both the Geneva Conventions and other widely-accepted human rights standards.

The current crisis in American credibility and legitimacy might have been
manageable had Mr Bush enjoyed greater popularity internationally. Certainly in this region, his crass Texan-style rhetoric, his unwavering belief in the efficacy of raw power as well as his crude prosecution of the "war on terror" do not go down well.

The majority of the people in this region feel that the US' moral standing and credibility among Muslims in the region - and globally - will only be recouped when the present policies are reversed.

Down to George W Bush and his administration!

Please spare me the tears ... I have gave up on them. They have no intelligence ... they only seeks to fight and bite others.

They have no manners, no culture and no heritage. They just animals in shape of Man.

You want to be nice to them while they gawk away at your hands, that's YOUR choice. You want to take actions for their posts, that's YOUR choice also as a moderator.

I just suggesting that time like this, deducting a few mere credits isn't enough to control the problem and whether to accept such comments from me is YOUR choice also.
