eh rasanya tak.. kat forum lowyat tu..bersepah pakat install vista semata nak limewire n bittorrent diaorang laju..and setakat nie takde pun diaorang komplen file hilang or x playable.. |

i tak tau naper setakat ni tak mau lagi mencuba Vista..setakat tukar skin jer boleh lah..
Mungkin lepas 6-12 bulan kot baru try..
Mcm XP dulu pun, after few years, baru i switched. Before that, stick ngan Win2K jer.. |

samalah... oobi pun macam tu. tunggu at least 6 months... check experience other users first. kalau review bagus, tak banyak masalah, very stable, then baru fikir untuk convert ke vista. kena pastikan juga, semua software yang oobi guna compatible juga. kalau tak, stick dengan xp ler buat masa ni.

Setakat ni adik aku pakai Windows Vista takder lak komplen ada file lagu / movie / anime dier ilang kena delete oleh Vista. Tambah lak, PC dier sentiasa online 24 jam.
Pasal software lak, memang diakui tak sumer software bleh jalan kat Vista. Sebenarnya fenomena camni bukan benda baru, dulu time Windows XP mula2 kuar dulu pun problem sama camtu gak, gitu gak dengan Windows versi2 lama dulu. Sebab paling utama ialah kernel dier yang memang betul2 berbeza dgn XP. Windows Vista adalam Windows version 6.0 manakala Windows XP plak ialah Windows version 5.1 so jelas laa kernel dier jauh berbeza.
Pasal harga, memang takleh kata apa sebab kat memana pun sumer akan kata Vista mahal, Tapi, kos untuk bangunkan Vista tu sendiri sangat mahal sampai mencecah kos berbilion USD, dan dier mula dibangunkan even sebelum XP kuar, maybe sekitar awal 2001. Tak heran la naper harga Windows Vista ori mahal, sebab Microsoft seboleh2 nak buat OS yang paling sempurna dalam segala aspek, tambah lak Bill Gates dah nak bersara tahun depan. |

as for the price, i have to disagree. yes, the cost to develop vista is a lot. but, microsoft should not have any issue to make it affordable to users. if they don't release another os in the next three years, microsoft can easily double its net profit from the development cost. the reason they are able to maximize the price is because there's no other os that can closely compete with microsoft right now. linux, mac, all have they own shares, but microsoft share of the pie is still large enough that they can do whatever they want in controlling the end user os market, right now. even with all the pirating issue, they still reported lots of profits.

aku pakai vista, tapi tak ada film dan music yg hilang pun... ok jer... cuma 3 software yg kantoi... dan mungkin pihak penjana software tersebut akan upgrade untuk compatible dengan vista nanti kemudian. |

Paling baik pakai Vista bila jadik tester dier cam si jijysquall tu laa...sebab dia guna Vista bukan sajer2 jer nak test power Vista semata2, tapi gak test software lain cam Nero, DivX, ACDSee etc... Bila ada yang tak support, dia akan hantar feedback kat diorang dan kejap jer pastu diorang dah kuarkan software yang compatible dgn Vista... so sekarang ni latest version utk certain software cam Nero, DivX dgn ACDSee sekarang dah support Vista dah... |

I know you'll disagree with the price for the original ones... but you should know that computer software are also intellectual properties just like books, songs, movies, industrial designs... The owners of intellectual properties put a lot of effort to come out with all these, because it's not as easy as you think to produce them. It consumes a lot of time, money, ideas... for development and testing. Only with the money paid from original copies enable Microsoft for a large funds to develop new versions of Windows. About the pricing, I would like to tell you that the price of about RM300 something for XP is actually too cheap compared with the development cost margin, but Microsoft put that price as 'insecure monopoly', assuming that they can still make profit, only if Windows XP was sold in very large numbers. Oh yes, let me remind you... professional software such as Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD etc. are sold for even higher prices for every original copies (at least RM4,000+) even though it's only a piece of CD. Just think about it and compare with even more complex software such an OS.
If you want to compare with Linux, think about this... Linus Torvalds created the Linux kernel only for his university, just for fun. However, even though he realized that he had made an OS kernel, but creating a perfect OS was very hard and complex. That's why he wrote an email to programmers to perfect his Linux. Then, other programmers modify the OS little by little... but Linux can still never beat Windows in terms of perfection though Linux is a stable OS. That's the difference between the two - Linux is created by the creator just for fun but Windows is created as a serious effort for a living.
If you want to compare with Apple, let me tell you that 1 reason why Macs are expensive is because of the OS, not just the hardware themselves. The actual retail price for Mac OS X is much higher than Windows Vista, but since all Macs are preloaded with Mac OS X, nobody is aware about it.
If you still worry about the price, let me assure you that the price will go down soon, it's juat a matter of time. Most important, we should respect and not denying the rights of the intellectual properties' owner. Only by paying reasonable amount is the way to show respect to intellectual properties's owners so that they can work on better ones. Even my lecturers file lawsuits to students who only photocopy the whole of the revision textbooks they've written, because of no respect from the copiers for them. |
