voltaren supp for children - it is safe?- tolong la aku

hello... saya ada satu kemusykilan ni sikit...
anak saya berumur 5 tahun dan apabila demam panas like 39.C and above.. saya biasanya sponge bath selama lebih kurang 5-10 minit..
selepas itu masukkan vorun supp dan if time untuk pcm supp saya beri dia makan..
vorun supp(if betul ejaan) akan cooldown fever serta merta and lasts for 8 hours dalam body...
nak tanya lepas 8 hours tu biasanya fever akan naik balik... adakah ok jika saya practise untuk vorun supp ini if fever very high and ubat demam memagn perlu kan diberi mengikut jam like 1st day fever 4 hours, 2nd day - 6hours .. etc...?

senang rasa hati... itulah kan hospital if fever naik 39 cepat2 bath n masukkan voren supp...
yerla.. if naik panas sgt risau kan...

anak saya pun kalau badan panas sangat nak nak cepat kurangkan suhu panas, saya bagi volteran supp jugak. Kejap ajer dah baik demam tapi lepas tu dalam tempoh 6 jam, saya akan bagi syrup pulak. Ada doktor kata, tak elok sangat kalau asyik sumbat volteran supp ni. entah laaaaa tapi kat rumah memang sentiasa ada spare benda ni. selalunya, saya bagi time-time malam sebab bebudak ni selalu demam malam. So, saya tak risau sangat sebab suhu pun dah ok.. |

sama la ngan aku.. risau kan bila panas sangat.. tido pon tak lelap..
tp yg penting lenjunkan dulu badannya.. mcm spital wat...tp yg penting kena ada spare dalam peti sejuk.. |

...not ok for those yang ada allergy to NSAIDs...such as ponstan...brufen...synflex...
...but...there are instances whereby a patient is allergic to ponstan but can take voltaren...heh... |

Reye's syndrome and NSAIDs
saya personally prefers paracetamol untuk treat demam in children.. NSAIDs mcm Voltaren(diclofenac) and Brufen(ibupfofen).. reserve utk treat sakit in children yg tak jalan with paracetamol..
NSAIDs esp aspirin in children ada dikaitkan dengan Reye's syndrome..
what is Reye's syndrome:
Reye's syndrome is a rare illness that can be life-threatening. The illness occurs mainly in young children and usually follows a viral infection, such as the flu, chicken pox, or upper respiratory infection. It occurs most often in children between the ages of 2 and 16 years.
The illness causes:
low blood sugar
high levels of acid and ammonia in the blood
buildup of fat and swelling in the liver and
swelling of the brain
The exact cause of Reye's syndrome is unknown. It is believed that the use of aspirin and medicines containing aspirin may trigger its development in children. This is why children 18 years or younger should not be given aspirin in any form for any reason.

that's why physician jarang guna voltaren as a FIRST LINE treatment untuk demam unless kalau demam terlalu tinggi (mcm blackmore cakap tu..) |

betul aku setuju... aku cuma bagi if demam rich sampai kadang2 39.3-39.5,,,
risau tau.. tak sedar sebab sedar2 panas sangat and anak aku ngadu sejuk...
if less then that memang takkan bagi.. mandikan je la dulu n bagi pcm every 4 hours...
if demam terlalu tinggi yang kesian kat budak je.. dah mandi pon turunnya sikit sangat even bagi pcm (panadol
tq rebas for the info... interesting one |

oooo...ini ke rupernya. mmg pernah guna masa anak demam, tp tak tau pulak nama ubat ni.
but doc ada pesan jgn guna selalu, kecuali keadaan terdesak.
anyway tq ye sis. |
