What is the ultimate purpose in life?

we constantly plan for future...

we enter good primary school so we can go to good secondary school

we study for SPM so we can go to good University..

we get good grades so we can get good jobs..

we get good jobs so we can get well paid jobs...

in the end....

what is the purpose of all this?

Life has no meaning when you are full of debts, no jobs and etc.
Why some people chose to end their life when they can't pay the Ah longs?
Life became meaningless when you are full of debts and you can't repay your loan. No job, no source of income.

I find that people who have financial difficulties always ask this question, what is the purpose of life. They feel that life is meaningless. It happened to my friends and also to me ...once.

i guess i share with u of what i think LIFE is all about:

it is LIFE when you enjoy the things you do
it is LIFE when you are thankful for whatever you have
it is LIFE when you can watch money come and go
it is LIFE when opportunity smells funny
it is LIFE when hardship tasted sweet

eventho people going for money, i still think there's deeper things than money.
freedom? yes, freedom of doing whatever you want without having any constraints.

imagine this then...

you have a lot of money. maybe from your own investments or inheritance. you can even buy an island of you want.
BUT
your freedom is compromised. you can never walk anywhere on the streets like a normal person anymore. you feel like a celebrity but deep inside you know you cant.
your movement is guarded, always on caution...never melancholy. always eyes looking out for snipers.
believe me...be thankful for what you have.

I don't have to advertise if I have lots of money. My freedom will not be compromised. Making a million in a year is very common nowadays. I have a friend earning a million a year. He drives his porsche everywhere without bodyguards coz he doesn't have one. I don't see his freedom is compromised.

We are not celebrity or any famous people. If we make lots of money from investments, who is going to know about it. Right? You said you made 50% in 2 weeks but you never mentioned the figure. So nobody knows how much you have made. How can our freedom be compromised?

Well, nobody asked to be born anyway. We are simply thrown into it. But the miracle of being born is such that since that moment we just instinctively "learn" to live like ...learn to cry, suckle, smile, turn, crawl, stand up, walk ........When we are older we learn to talk and  acquire more knowledge....my, there seem to be  no limit to the knowledge we can acquire. Yet.......all this is for what purpose?:cf:

I kind of think, in the early stages all those learning although almost instinctively is to prepare us with the basic ability to handle life in the next stage. For example, we learn to make sound and later speak so as to be able to communicate with others. We learn to move, walk, run so that we are able go where we want in the course if our life. In other words.............so that we are able to carry out the functions of living.

We only live once. In the end we will all die and become no more..... cancelled. So living in itself must be the secret..........It is there where we should take the opportunity to live the best that we can. I recall the following quotation:

"It is better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all." - Alfred Lord Tennyson

I feel that it is what we fill our life with that matters and for that, only we can decide how to go about doing that.

What is the ultimate purpose in life?

Soalan ni sungguh menarik. Terbaca saya tulisan ahli falsapah Denmark Sǿren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) pengasas existentialism. Ia banyak mempertikaikan keujudan itu satu yang tidak adil. Contoh, mengapa kita tidak dirujukan sebelum diri kita dihumban kealam ini. Dalam hayat yang begitu singkat beliau sempat menulis unkapan ini:

"I stick my fingure into existence- it smells of nothing.
Where am I? What is this thing called the world?
Who is it who has lured me into the thing, and now
leave me here? Who am I? How did I come into the world?
Why was I not consulted?"

He believes life is meant for suffering not pleasure. Baby cry during birth, mother in pain during labour, I was trumatised(??) when they chopped off my foreskin.....we see people struggle of dying at the last moment of death. Life begins and ends with pain...how is that life is designed for pleasure?

There are plenty of millionaires around. I don't see them getting kidnapped.
