Darfur Fund beats expectations, collects RM820,000By : Zainuddin Muhammad

KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 30:
They had planned to raise RM500,000 for the Darfur Humanitarian Fund but a month into the fund raising campaign - even before the official launch, the Terengganu Umno Youth and Terengganu Malay Chambers of Commerce have raised nearly RM820,000.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh announced this at the soft launch of the campaign in Batu Buruk today.

Fund secretariat chairman Mohd Sabri Alwi said the amount will grow even more, with a charity concert at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium on Feb 10.
The star-studded concert promises appearances by Datuk Siti Norhaliza, Mawi, Hattan, Yassin, Spider, Kopratasa, Bienda and personalities from TV3.

In his speech at the launch, Idris said a little money could go a long way in easing a little of the pain and suffering of the people in Darfur, western Sudan.

Kalau tak silap mawi balik dari syria n turki 9 feb kan?
ngan jet lag n nak rehat lagi
