Bunkface bags top Shout! Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Local pop punk-rock band Bunkface was the biggest winner in the Shout! Awards last night as it took the Rockstar Award and Break Out Award (Best New Act) for music.

It also won the overall Ultimate Shout Award.
A total of 16 awards were presented at the Shout! Awards, a celebration of local talent and rising entertainment personalities, at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil last night.
Hosted by Marion Caunter, Jien and Sarah, this first-of-its-kind awards show aimed to highlight and recognise those who had made creative breakthroughs in music, film, TV and radio.
The Film and TV category saw Upin and Ipin won Best On Screen Chemistry (pair), while Nas from the Breakfast Show won Favourite TV Host and Field Trip USA scored Favourite TV Programme (non drama).
JJ from Hitz FM claimed the Coolest Radio Announcer award and Fly FM's Pagi Show, hosted by Ben, Nadia and Phat Fabes, won Favourite Radio Show.
A fun awards division saw Dynaz Mokhtar taking home the Stylo Award, while Marion Caunter and Faizal Tahir won the Hot Chick and Hot Guy Award respectively.
The audience caught performances by One Buck Short, Pop Shuvit, Estranged, Mia Palencia, Paolo Delfino, Joe Flizzow, and Caprice featuring Rahim Maarof.
In a tribute to Michael Jackson, Jaclyn Victor performed a medley of Heal the World and You Are Not Alone with Reefa and Aubrey Suwito.
International pop star Sean Kingston made a special appearance, performing hit singles Beautiful Girls, Fire Burning and Take You There.
