Orang yang curang tidak kira berapa pun usia mereka akan memberikan alasan kesunyian dan diabaikan pasangan.

Akhirnya, rumah tangga yang dibina selama berpuluh-puluh tahun bagaikan retak menanti belah. Hancur musnah begitu sahaja ekoran nafsu si warga emas.
Pakar Perunding Kaunselor Kekeluargaan dan Perkahwinan, Hushim Salleh berkata, ramai dalam kalangan mereka yang datang kepadanya merupakan warga emas berusia 60 tahun ke atas.
Katanya, mereka yang hadir biasanya adalah atas inisiatif golongan isteri yang mendapat tahu mengenai kecurangan suami masing-masing.
“Biasanya perbuatan suami terdedah apabila isteri masing-masing memeriksa telefon bimbit mereka. Walaupun segala perbualan telah dipadam, pasangan mereka mampu lagi mengesan bukti di dalamnya (telefon bimbit).
“Apabila mereka hadir menemui saya, antara alasan yang biasa diterima adalah isteri tidak melayan mereka lagi seperti biasa, menyebabkan dia berasa kesunyian. Jadi menerusi media soal, suami ini akan mula mencari wanita lain,” katanya.
Hushim berkata, kira-kira tiga pasangan warga emas menemuinya dalam seminggu bagi mendapatkan kaunseling, yang mana ia merupakan satu peningkatan berbanding beberapa tahun lalu apabila sekitar lima sahaja pasangan datang ke pejabatnya dalam sebulan.
Katanya, daripada jumlah yang hadir berkenaan, kira-kira 80 peratus berjaya disedarkan dan menyelamatkan rumah tangga masing-masing.
“Ada dalam kalangan warga emas ini hadir kerana diminta oleh anak-anak. Sudah tentulah mereka tidak mahu menanggung malu akibat daripada perbuatan bapa yang curang dengan ibu.
“Suami yang curang ini pula kebanyakannya berduit. Jadi pangkat dan harta turut memainkan peranan dalam masalah tersebut, selain usia wanita ditemui mereka yang lebih muda,” katanya.
Tambah Hushim, ada dalam kalangan isteri yang memilih untuk tinggal di rumah orang tua kerana merajuk dengan tindakan suami berkenaan.
“Golongan isteri ini akan meminta untuk dimasukkan ke rumah orang tua kerana baginya, di sana dia mampu mendapatkan ketenangan diri. Di sana ada rakan-rakan yang boleh meluangkan masa dengannya,” katanya.
Media bahkan sering melaporkan mengenai kecurangan warga emas, yang ada kalanya mendatangkan musibah kepada diri mereka sendiri.
