Bora Bora is an island in the Leeward group of the Society Islands of French Polynesia and is mainly dependent on tourism. The most visited resorts are built on small islands surrounding the lagoon. The island is famous for its art galleries bacause Bora Bora’s artists and craftsmen fall into a rare class of artistry. An important part of the culture of the Polynesian islands is tattooing.
