Kuwait Towers

How would you imagine the purpose of these towers in Kuwait?  TV tower?  Restaurants?  What more do you come to mind?

The State of Kuwait is considered one of the largest suppliers of oil to world markets.  Black gold is so much that it seems that the desert of Kuwait - is cured "icy" crust on the surface of the oil lakes.  But at the same time, Kuwait is absolutely no source of fresh water.  Even from the deepest wells hits salt water.

Living in Kuwait is very respected by the water - it's who, and they just know its true value.  Fresh water is exported or produced by desalination plants.

In Kuwait City has its own, no matter what symbol does not look like a business card, three water towers of solid concrete.  These structures, in addition to its purely utilitarian purpose - to ensure the pressure in water supply systems of the city, also perform an aesthetic function, giving the appearance of uniqueness and originality.

Its futuristic appearance of the tower shall architects Sana Björn Lindström and Malena, as well as the Belgrade company "Energoprojekt".  They are staring upward, and gradually tapering cone-stele.  The main tower, the height of 187 meters, in two places expands, forming two areas.  In the lower area is a reservoir volume of 3780 cubic meters of water, and the top area at an altitude of 123 meters, the restaurant and observation deck.  The second tower, the height of 145.8 meters, has one area and serves only to maintain the pressure in the water supply system.  In the third, the smallest tower, installed electrical equipment and 96 spotlights that illuminate the other two towers, and adjacent territory.

"  Bullets and fragments of broken triangular windows, glazed areas which have left holes in the concrete.  The fire damaged the interior equipment.  As soon as possible towers were renovated and brought to town in pristine beauty.

But there is still such towers:

In the 1980s, in Kuwait City built a complex system of water supply.  It is the visible part of three decades of water towers.  The towers are made of concrete and form similar to mushrooms.  The design was so simple and interesting that even won an award in the field of architecture.
