Do you know that Mangosteen are one of the best natural remedies that will be beneficial to our health?
Properties of mangosteen may not be well known by the public, even though everyone knows the goodness of the taste of the mangosteen fruit. Mangosteen has the Latin name called Garcinia mangostana fruit which is a plant that only grows in tropical areas. Mangosteen trees can grow to heights from 7 to 25 meters and is the kind of perennial greens. Mangosteen fruit is more commonly called the “queen of fruits” or “queen of fruits” has many health benefits for both treatment and prevention.
Does mangosteen possess health-promoting properties?
The modern scientific/nutrition community has recently concluded, through its research, that mangosteen does possess beneficial health-promoting properties. These properties are in the form of beneficial compounds potentially capable of providing a wide spectrum of health benefits.
What are these compounds?
These compounds are called xanthones. Xanthones are a newly-discovered class of plant nutrients that are highly, biologically active. They are unique because they possess very potent antioxidant capabilities.
What are antioxidants and why are they important?
Antioxidants are nutrients that protect cells from oxidative damage resulting from the presence of free radicals. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that attack stable molecules and wreak havoc within the body. They occur in the body when we overexert ourselves, when we get exposed to pollution or intake chemicals from processed foods and other impurities in our environment.
How many xanthones are in mangosteen?
Over 30 different xanthones have been identified in mangosteen. Many of these xanthones have been investigated through research, and their ability to positively impact the quality of life has been shown.
Does the entire fruit contain nutrients?
The pulp of the fruit contains vitamins such as vitamin C and minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. The rind of the fruit, known as the pericarp, is particularly rich in valuable xanthones.
How can I obtain mangosteen fruit?
Because fresh mangosteen fruit is not readily available in the United States, the best way to take advantage of its numerous health benefits is to purchase it as a dietary supplement. Vemma’s Mangosteen Plus™ provides an excellent source of mangosteen. Click here to see how Vemma’s Mangosteen Plus compares to other mangosteen products.

When we are talking about Mangosteen Fruit, properties of mangosteen may not be known, but the empirical skin of the mangosteen have been widely used to treat tuberculosis, malaria, skin diseases, diarrhea and dysentery. Benefits of mangosteen has indeed much of our society, as evidenced by traditional medicine that has been done for generations. In addition to the content, the mangosteen skin incredibly effective for the treatment of various diseases. Even in some countries such as Thailand, the mangosteen fruit dried and then used as an ingredient for make soap, shampoo and other cosmetic ingredients.
Mangosteen Benefits on Various laboratory tests showed that the data content of the mangosteen is used to treat many diseases, among other things, is to maintain a healthy cardiovascular hair healthcare, eyes and skin, helps the immune system, increases the resistance and energy, helps the digestive system, as well as an antidote free radicals. Savor the mangosteen can also be used for the prevention of several life-threatening diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease and many other diseases. Mangosteen is also very good for preventing a disease that causes brain damage.

Why is the Mangosteen Pericarp so Beneficial?
The mangosteen pericarp is the part of the mangosteen fruit that contains the highest concentration of xanthones. However, due to proprietary methods, it is possible to use the whole fruit and yet still retain its unique flavor by combining it with that of another delicious fruit, such as the pomegranate. The human body has absolutely no problem absorbing the nutrients from the mangosteen pericarp, of which represents extremely powerful, naturally anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant components. The fact that the pericarp is so rich with anti-oxidants is of incredible importance, as it is these anti-oxidants which scavenge and neutralize free radicals throughout the body. These free radicals are, in fact, one of the greatest threats to our overall health, as they attack each cell in the human body thousands of times per day, weakening it and making it susceptible to sickness and disease.
How can the xanthones in mangosteen offer so many health benefits?
They are biologically active plant phenols found in a few select tropical plants, in fact the majority of them have been found in just two families of higher plants – Guttiferae and Gentianaceae. They are one of the unique classes of phytonutrients. There are over 200 types of xanthone in nature, and over 40 are found in the mangosteen and vast majority of them are available in the pericarp (skin) of mangosteen. Based on the research completed so far, there seem to be no fruit contains as many xanthones as mangosteen. When we eat mangosteen, the only part we consume is the tasty flesh, and the pericarp which is the healthiest part is the part that we throw away. Due to its unbearable bitter taste, it is just not edible by all means.
According to the research done in vitro (under laboratory and controlled condition), mangosteen’s xanthones possess antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiviral and antitumor properties. This has validated the traditional uses of mangosteen in the treatment of diarrhea, infection, dysentery and inflammatory skin conditions despite the fact that little clinical studies were completed in vivo (in live organism) so far.
”I’ve heard of the powerful benefits that xanthones provide the body. Are all xanthones natural?”
This is a very important question for those who take products containing these power-packed antioxidant compounds known as xanthones. Our research has found that there are synthetically-derived xanthones. But most significantly, the published studies that tested the benefits of synthetic xanthones came back with very mixed results.
I believe that the best source of natural xanthones comes from the mangosteen fruit and its outer pericarp (rind). The Vemma Nutrition Program™ uses mangosteen fruit and a potent, standardized extract from the mangosteen pericarp (standardized for 10% xanthones). This standardized form offers the highest levels of natural xanthones of all the products we’ve tested.
If a product on the market is said to contain xanthones, my recommendation is to make sure the xanthones you take are natural, have the highest levels and come from the best source you can find. Then, research to see if the company backs their product with testing.
Another benefit of Vemma® is that its owner, BK Boreyko, owns the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility where Vemma is produced. I’m in charge of every aspect of testing, manufacturing and quality control. BK requires I manufacture the best, most potent mangosteen product on the market. He expects the best and Vemma delivers it. You won’t find a more potent, complete mangosteen product anywhere. I guarantee it!
