Hong Sisters (“Master’s Sun,” “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho”) Working on New Drama
The Hong Sisters (Hong Mi Ran and Hong Jung Eun), the drama screenwriting team behind “Master’s Sun,” “Greatest Love,” “Big,” “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,” and “You’re Beautiful,” are coming back with a new drama.
A source from MBC commented, “There is no concrete synopsis yet. Who gets casted for a Hong Sisters’ project is a hot issue between actors and agencies.”
This upcoming drama will be the Hong Sisters’ first MBC drama in four years. Their last project with MBC, “Greatest Love,” was a huge hit, so there is high anticipation for this one, especially as they will be reuniting with the director of “Greatest Love,” Park Hong Kyun.

Hong Sisters announce the title and premise of their new drama

Fans of the Hong Sisters, writers of You're Beautiful, The Master's Sun, and Greatest Love, have been eagerly awaiting news of the title and premise of the new drama they have signed on to write for MBC. Here's what the Hong Sisters have shared about what they have in the works.
Staying true to what they do best, the sisters will write a romance, and this time it will take place on Jeju Island. So far the working title is Jeju Island Gatsby. Initially it was meant to be a time travel drama with characters traveling back and forth between modern times and 100 years ago. However, they decided to change the entire story, and so far all they have announced is that the new story will be a romance set on Jeju Island. I wonder how significant the reference to "Gatsby" is in the title. I can see the connection between Jeju Island and the wealthy New York island The Great Gatsby takes place on. It would be fun to see a Korean remake of the classic, but hopefully the story will not end as tragically!
Writers Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran will be teaming up again with the PD from Greatest Love, Park Hong Kyu. The drama will premiere on MBC in May after Angry Mom.

Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora in Talks for the New Hong Sisters’ Drama
As it was reported on January that famous drama script writers, Hong Sisters, are in the process of making a new drama, many have been wondering who will be chosen as actors for their new project. Because Hong Sisters have been extremely successful with their past dramas such as “ Master’s Sun,” “ Greatest Love,” and “ Big,” many actors have been eager to work with Hong Sisters.
So netizens are excited to hear that Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora are in talks for this new Hong Sisters’ drama titled “ Jejudo Gatsby” (literal translation). “Jejudo Gatsby” is a romantic-comedy about young people who leave the busy city to live in Jeju Island. Although Hong Sisters were originally planning to write a drama about time traveling, they completely changed plans last month and started working on “Jejudo Gatsby.” Meanwhile, Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora’s agencies responded that although nothing is set in stone yet, they indeed are considering the roles.

The next Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora's drama will have a title that: “맨도롱 또똣.”The Hong sisters announced the title Tuesday, along with the identity of several new leading and supporting members!The drama, which was previously known as Jejudo Gatsby has changed the title to 맨도롱 또똣 (which means feeling good and warm in Jeju dialect). Anticipation is higher than ever since it will be bringing together the Hong sisters and Park Hong Kyun PD once again, since they produced MBC’s The Greatest Love in 2011.It was previously reported that Kim Woo Bin and Kang Sora are in the process of discussing their appearance in the drama and on March 9, the rumors have spread to Lee Sung Jae’s possible appearance.
CEO Moon Suk Hwan of Born Factory, the drama production company, told Newsen on March 9, “It’s true that we’ve made a casting offer to Lee Sung Jae and both the production team and the agency are positively considering this offer.
