UNITED NATIONS - Indigenous people are being pushed off their lands to make way for an expansion of biofuel crops around the world, threatening to destroy their cultures by forcing them into big cities, the head of a U.N. panel said Monday.

Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, chair of the U.N. Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, said some of the native people most at risk live in Indonesia and Malaysia, which together produce 80 percent of the world's palm oil

Yup, biodiesel boleh digunakan untuk fuel engine. Tapi dari segi pratikalnya totally mengarut, merepek, buang masa dan merugikan. Still 95% adalah diesel dan 5% aje minyak sawit. Kos untuk combinekan dua minyak tu dah braper? Minyak sawit harganya plak lagi mahal. 5% minyak sawit dalam biodiesel tu banyak mana sangatlah dapat mengurangkan gas rumah hijau..

any kind of products obtained from petroleum is also obtainable from bio-oil.
Bio-oil is still not fully developed in Malaysia sebab masalah pelabur. Nowadays, pelabur still cenderung to petroleum. So, there's nothing government can do about it.I think maybe we need to wait petroleum to demolish first before bio-oil become the mian source.just my 2 cents...

bagus la ada orang nak buat bio diesel sendiri... bole kongsi ka... saya ada baca dalam paper lama, orang thailand buat bio diesel pakai minyak kelapa untuk bajak sawah..
