Perisan "OPEN SOURCE" - Daripada mereka menjana sumber kewangan?

Jadi sekarang sudah banyak perisian sumber terbuka[ open source] yg kebanyakkannya percuma, jadi aku musykila, dimana mereka dapat sumber kewangan untuk bangunkan dan naik taraf perisan mereka?Contohnya Mozilla/Linux. Yang aku dapat fikirkan sekarang ialah hanya daripada sumber pengiklanan dan sumbangan mereka yang prihatin. Jadi macam mana mereka meneruskan survival mereka dalam menghasilkan perisian berkualiti?
Sekain..Terima Kasih |

salah satu sebab orang buat open source (based on self experience) adalah tak larat atau otak dah jem untuk buat ia 100% perfect.. kalau benda tu berbayar, u have responsibility to make it perfect, and answer all questions or problems, but with open source (atau freeware) - anda free untuk keep ur mouth shut dan yang sewaktu dengannya
maybe dorang tak dapat dana secara directly, tapi probably what they did menguatkan lagi portfolio/resume carik makan mereka, tu yang lebih penting, dapat keja dengan syarikat besau2 dan at the same time feed them hobbies =) |

sumbangan mereka yang prihatin..hehe rase nye dalam 10org gune freeware tuh akan ade 4org donated. jadi dari donation dan iklan sahaja sudah cukup untuk mereke survive malah ada yang boleh menjadi kaya. |

first, nakkan publisiti.....tengok mozilla, dia fikir dia mampu bersaing ngan microsoft nyer internet explorer.n ni terbukti ya when ramai yg bertukar ke mozilla.
second, boleh masukkan spyware dlm software derang.pastu jual kat pihak ketiga tuk tujuan tertentu.
third, boleh berbangga ngan software yg diciptanyer.bayangkan ramai yg gunakan software tersebut termasuklah secret admire beliau......boleh kembang idung sket, berlagak depan kawan derang
keempat, diorang mungkin akan dapat sponsor dr pihak tertentu.so diorang boleh jual formula tu kat org n kaya lah beliau. |

kadang2 diorang bergantung pada sponsor. sponsor yg support diorang akan dpt pengiklanan dari produk yg free tu. |

Yg paling ketara "Sumber Terbuka" ni dpt kewangan
drpd yayasan yg ditubuhkan. Yayasan itu pulak diapung menerusi
komuniti2 yg involved. Dan ada gak government yg bagi
dana kat foundation sebegini....
feel free (bebas)...free to donate, free to invest,
free to share and so on...... |

---Banyak cara, nie contoh Red Hat:
Red Hat operates on an open source business model based on open code, community development, professional quality-assurance services, and subscription-based customer support.
Developers take the open source Linux kernel and adapt and improve it to fit certain needs. The code they write is open, so more programmers can make further adaptations and improvements. When a problem is found, an entire community of users can come together to find a solution. The whole development process is said by some to work at a faster pace and at a lower cost than that of a proprietary model where the code is not visible to users.
The software Red Hat creates using this model are widely available at no cost, which leads to the misconception that the company "sells free software."
Red Hat sells subscriptions to the support, training, and integration services that help customers in using the open source software. Customers pay one set price for access to services such as Red Hat Network and up to 24x7 support, and they receive unlimited access to these service
