There could be myriads of reason.
One could be the guy feels helpless, powerless and he needs to affirm his illusion of爌ower, or securities by exxerting his will 爓rongly on someone else (be it women, men and child).
Honestly I still can't find a single example of reason other than insecurities. Maybe it's a stretch, but I still can't find one. |

I agree that insecurity may be a factor, he feels inadequate and therefore finds the weak to "prove" his authority. However, what controls his choice of action?
