Jumping into the ground  

At first glance it might seem that this is the usual bungee jumping (jumping with bungee), but this is not the case.  It is the custom of the island of Vanuatu.
  In contrast to the modern bungee jumping, the islanders used the vines instead of elastic ropes and wooden buildings rather than bridges.  With the proper calculation of the height of the tower and the length of the vine, "the diver" touches the ground shoulder or head.  It is believed that by doing so, he blesses the soil in order to then assemble it with a good harvest.

alamak...orang asli pun nak bungee jumping,..macam bahaya je...pakai akar kayu, masa mendarat kebanyakannya kepala jejak tanah, boleh patah tengkuk...

pernah tengok dokumentari pasal ni......kalau tak silap puak ni lah yg mula2 memperkenalkan Bungee Jumping......tapi cara dia orang ni cam nak tempah maut je.
