There is a small enterprise where power cords are made. We are invited to look through the stages of the process.
The production area is divided into three main parts: cleaning and pressurizing, molding and quality control. First look how pressurizing is done.
Today the cord is cut manually but very soon the process will be automatized. New equipment will be supplied for that.
The device cuts the external insulation and exposes the cord.
Plug setting.
Let’s go to the molding hall. It contains around 20 hot melt sheets made in China.
One side of the cord is ready. This type of cords is bought rather seldom that is why it more profitable to buy semi-assembled cords from China.
The second part of the cord is pressurized and covered with plastic at the enterprise.
This is what was obtained in the end.
Let us visit the warehouse now.
The detailed stored here are used for pressurization of different contact points. Then the finished product is sent for quality and package checking.
Every cord is tested with the appliance. A test lasts for 3-5 seconds. In spite of the fact the enterprise is not big, the organization and the product quality are rather good. If we had more centers like this one, we could compete the Chinese sellers. At least now we don’t have to import the cords.
