Can anybody help me with this a few question about business accounting ...im a bit lost...

a) insurance company sends a bill/invoice stating that your company policy is due for payment on 10th Jan 2014. The coverage period shall be from 10th Jan 2014 until 9th Jan 2015. Please provide your justification on the following decisions:

i) to record the transaction
illustrate it to include income statement and balance sheet.

ii) not to record the transaction
