Many, especially Muslims believe that Hudud System is a Civil Law System aimed to protect the believers from temptation of the World and punish those who have committed sin. But I believe its purpose is something else altogether.
I believe that Islam can only exist IF no one criticizes it or its founder Muhammad. And that purpose of Hudud System is to ensure that no one could be able to criticize Islam and Muhammad and remain free. After all, Muslims had killed poets for writing poems criticizing him and Muslims even when he was alive in Madinah and later after Mecca was conquered.
Hudud System could ensure that no one asked questions like what Muhammad did that and that and by doing so, the integrity of Islam will remain intact. After all, how else could a false belief like Islam could survive for 1,400 years if not for its followers threaten, bribe or simply kill those who dared to criticize Muhammad? |
