故事梗概
桃姐是侍候了梁家数十年的老佣人，把第二代的少爷罗杰抚养成人。罗杰仍然独身，留在香港居住和工作，而桃姐也继续照顾罗杰，成为习惯。在等待从内地出差回家的罗杰，桃姐看着窗外的街景打发时间，不知不觉间却竟昏迷在地上。桃姐醒来时发现自己身在医院，一边手臂不能活动自如，守候在侧的是送她到医院的罗杰。据诊断桃姐是中风了，必须利用物理治疗尽量恢复活动能力；桃姐爽快地叫罗杰代她找一家老人院住下来。罗杰在百忙工作中为桃姐找合适老人院，期间巧遇昔日电影拍摄认识的草蜢哥，原来草蜢哥趁电影不景早已转行，经营私营老人院生意。草蜢哥为罗杰介绍了老人院行情，桃姐的老人院就此定下了。罗杰再次从内地电影工作赶回港，桃姐已经出院并获送到老人院，环境陌生，院友怪异，桃姐强装镇定，到罗杰赶至照应，桃姐更表现一切应付裕如。

罗杰工余常到老人院探桃姐，主仆闲话家常一如母子，仍保持互相揶揄调侃习惯，桃姐嘴硬心甜，院友羡慕。罗杰母回港渡假带备亲手烹调的燕窝到老人院探望桃姐，院友为之艳羡。罗杰母与桃姐同年，但罗杰母能待桃姐犹如亲人，只是偶有对罗杰戏言他与桃姐的情谊犹胜母子。罗杰特意带桃姐参加电影首映礼，桃姐首次刻意打扮准备，取收藏已久的名贵衣服出发赴会，院友也不禁赞美；首映礼上桃姐大开眼界，更终有机会见到电影明星，桃姐感叹自己有生之年已然无憾…
