Rexy to give doubles pairs some breathing space
KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles chief coach Rexy Mainaky is taking a new approach in dealing with the players and they can expect to get some breathing space.
Rexy will not put undue pressure on the players to win titles in one tournament after another. He would be satisfied if they can live up to his expectations in selected major tournaments every year. The focus this year will be on the World Championships in India in August.
Rexy said that past experiences had made him wiser.
揑 used to get very worked up when the players failed to win in every tournament. Previously, I was forceful because I wanted them to win everything. This may have resulted in some players losing the fire just before a big tournament, |

Arif hoping for a break to end his run of bad luck

KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Arif, the youngest of the three Abdul Latif brothers in the national training set-up, has been going through one of his toughest times since winning a place in the elite back-up squad this year.
The 19-year-old Arif, however, hopes that there will be a change of fortune in his bid to become a worthy men抯 singles player in the country.
