4/2/09 - The Top 8 Performances in 5:43, and Danny Gokey's secret mutant twin!
Top 8 Performance
Every year, when the producers run out of themes to use, they like to spring this gem on us: "the week they were born". Most of these songs are so old no one really gives a damn, which means they don't have to pay much to get the rights to these songs. It's always a dreary week, but thank goodness we have this year's crop of idols and their passive aggressive facial expressions to help us pass the time.
Without further ado, here's Top 8 reduced into a bite-sized 5:43 morsel:
nak nengok adam wat lagu citer2 james bond esp one that got attitude........one song that i can think of rite now is duran2 a view to a kill................
Fun facts:
Not a single contestant who has performed last has EVER been eliminated that same week prior to the Top 4.
Only two contestants in Idol history have been eliminated after performing last that same week (the Finale week does not count because no one is being eliminated)...Anthony Fedorov the fourth season during the Top 4 week, and Melinda Doolittle the sixth season during the Top 3 week...
Whoever has performed second during the Top 5 show has typically been eliminated that same week...R.J. Helton the first season, Trenyce the second season, George Huff the third season, Scott Savol the fourth season, and Paris Bennett the fifth season (There was no Top 5 show during the sixth season of American Idol)...David Cook had this position during the seventh season, but he survived. Still, this is not a desired position to be in for the Top 5 show...
Whoever has performed first during the Top 3 show has typically been eliminated that same week...at least during the first five seasons of American Idol... Nikki McKibbin the first season, Kim Locke the second season, Jasmine Trias the third season, Vonzell Solomon the fourth season, and Elliott Yamin the fifth season...Jordin Sparks had this position during the sixth season, but she survived, and David Archuleta also had this position during the seventh season, but he survived.
Nikki McKibbin of the first season and Syesha Mercado of the seventh season both currently hold the record for most appearances in the Bottom 3 prior to the week of their elimination* (5 each).
Clay Aiken holds the record for ending the most performance shows (5). Coming in 2nd is Ruben Studdard and Diana DeGarmo, who each ended 4 performance shows...(This does NOT include "special" shows).
So far, the winner of American Idol has NEVER been in the Bottom 3 during any of the first five weeks of the finals...
nampak sgt the judges were actually kinda RELIEVED that scott was booted out..buat2 berbincang konon, padehal mmg taknak savekan scott pun
to b honest,i was relieved too..i cant help but feeling sorry for scott, with his awkwardness bila dia berdiri atas pentas not really knowing what happened around him... (esp mase dia tried to show some excitedness bila dia dgr ppl were cheering..nampak pelik sgt die lompat2 esp mase pakai suar pink tu..)
ala..save tu sume drama jek..judges sebenonye dah ade the winner on their minds.
sedey aku masa paula bagi ucapan akhir kat scott. simon pun tak sampai ati nak rude kat scott mcm dia buat Megan (Simon masih nampak marah). tak dapek lah tengok brother scott yg hensem tu lagi.
Disappointed betul dgn lagu Kris but lagu Adam (Jules Gary version of course) was terrific. Always loved the lyrics of Tears for Fears, there's always a political message somewhere.
