If Not Why Not?STATEMENT BY ATTORNEY GENERAL MALAYSIA1. These allegations by foreign national Clare Rewcastle Brown in political blog Sarawak Report are false.
2. The alleged charge sheets are not in and never reached the Attorney General’s Chambers. Furthermore, the format of the sheets is not correct or written by our Chambers.
3. The Special Task Force investigation has not been completed. So it is not legally possible for charge sheets to be drafted in advance.
4. These alleged charge papers therefore indicate that there is a conspiracy to topple a serving Prime Minister by criminalising him, and that the methods include doctoring and criminal leakage.
5. This plot represents a threat to Malaysia’s democracy and I will direct for all action possible to be taken to investigate. The full force of the law will be applied without exception to any that are found guilty.

CommentFunnily, this statement has not been officially produced, but is circulating through BN’s cyber warfare blogs and also Rosmah’s favourite website – that of ‘RPK’s’ Malaysia Today.
The ‘statement’ comes just a few hours after the new Attorney General had announced to reporters that he was “too tired” to comment on the matter of what his predecessor might have drafted regarding charges against the Prime Minister for extracting RM27 million from the public company SRC International into his private account.
Something or somebody must have woken the new AG up from his slumbers in the early hours, in order to make these savvy remarks, just hours into his new job. In which case, we have some questions to ask back:
1 – Given all the evidence, if these charges have not been in fact made, why not?
2 -Why was the previous AG not only sacked to his own great surprise on his arrival at work on Monday morning, but also prevented from going into his office to get his papers?
3 – Why was the previous AG announced sick, when he says he feels perfectly well?
4 – Why was there a sudden fire in the ‘white collar crime’ section on the 10th floor of the Bukit Aman police headquarters just a few hours after?
5 – Why, given there is so much surrounding corroborative evidence and several other law enforcement agencies have refused to close their investigations into this matter of monies removed from SRC, is the whole matter being dismissed by the new boy in the AG’s chair as a ‘foreign plot”?
If this was all fabricated nonsense, surely by now all the agencies and the Public Accounts Committee investigating the matter would have confirmed this to be the case.
However, to achieve such a happy outcome, it seems the Prime Minister will have to continue to sack rather a lot more people.
