COURT (2014)
Court is a 2014 Indian indie film, written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane in his directorial debut. Featuring a cast of newcomers, the film examines the Indian legal system through the trial of an ageing folk singer at a Sessions Court in Mumbai. Court premiered at the 71st Venice International Film Festival on 4 September 2014,[1] where it won the Best Film in the Horizons category and the Luigi De Laurentiis (Lion Of The Future) award for Tamhane.[2] Jay Weissberg of Variety described the film as "an impressive debut that flays alive India’s judicial system thanks to an intelligent, superbly understated script."[3] The film went on to win 18 other awards at film festivals, including honours at the Mumbai, Vienna, Antalya, and Singapore film festivals.[4] In 2015, the film won the Best Feature Film award at the 62nd National Film Awards, which honoured films released in 2014.[5][6] Court theatrically released in India on 17 April 2015.[7] The film was selected as India's official submission for the 88th Annual Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category but it was not nominated.[8][9]

Filem yang sangat lain dari yang lain. Definitely not for commercial movie goers.
Penceritaan yang jujur tentang sistem kehakiman India. Strong characters, from lead until the supporting.
Some shots are long and boring, but gives a 'goosebump' feel to the audience.

I baru tengok movie ni, The Young and Prodigious T.S Spivet time dalam flight Lon-KL bulan puasa haritu. Movie ni adapt from the book The Selected Works of T. S. Spivet by Reif Larsen.
Main character dia budak kecik nama TS who lived with his family in a farm in Montana. Dia ada twin and TS witness twin dia mati tertembak diri sendiri. Ever since twin dia mati his family dynamic changes and family dia mcm abaikan si TS ni but he doesn't understand why. Sedih sikit la part tu.
As the title suggest, TS is a prodigious child. Dia submit his invention to the Smithsonian institute in New York and he was invited to the institute to receive an award. Orang kat Smitsonian tu igt dia adult sekali terkejut la diaorg that the inventor is a 12 years old child. Dia lari frm rumah pegi New York sorg2 and ada la cerita pasal his journey to NY. Kat sini ada la part lawak especially bila TS dah sampai kat the Smithsonian Institute tu.
The boy who played the main character was really good. Pandai dia bawak watak berat and scenes dia yg I paling suka is masa dia dengan mak dia played by Helena Bonham Carter.
Apa yg buat I tertarik nak tengok cerita ni is the director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet. First time I tengok cerita dia is the French movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain and I fell in love with his work. I tak tahu pun dia ada keluar movie baru in 2013. Nasib terjumpa masa tengah go through the in-flight movie guide kalau tak sampai sekarang la I tak tertengok cerita ni. This movie might not be everybody's cup of tea tapi utk I yg mmg suka cerita genre macam ni, I loved it.

Cerita ini mengisahkan tentang seorang wanita yang tidak boleh menjadi tua kerana satu keajaiban yang berlaku dalam tubuh badan nya (di explain secara saintifik oleh narrator dalam cerita ni). So dia kekal muda dan cantik.
Akibat daripada keajaiban ini, dia terpaksa hidup pindah randah dan bertukar-tukar identiti kerana beberapa kali menimbulkan kesukaran apabila berdepan dengan pihak berkuasa. Dan pernah juga ada pihak yang ingin menangkapnya untuk tujuan siasatan atau ujikaji barang kali. Tapi dia sempat melarikan diri sebelum apa apa berlaku.
Adeline ni p bercinta dgn satu jantan. tup2 rupanya dlu pak jantan ni pnh bercinta dengan adeline niih.
Cerita ni adalah berlawanan dengan cerita The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Tapi untuk The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, penceritaan dari buku ke layar perak adalah lebih terperinci. Dari segi jalan cerita, skrip, karakter membuatkan perasaan kita sat excited, sat pelik, sat sedih.....
Dalam AoA, aku rasa depa lebih focus kepada cliché cerita fantasi cinta, pompuan cantek dengan lelaki handsome. Lelaki dah la handsome kaya pulak tu. Depa jatuh cinta. Hadapi masalah. And tiba-tiba boom, depa live happily ever after.

first skali akan dipaparkan alice kat tgh laut, jd captain kapal wonder dan tu lah antara scene yg membosankan, sbb lakonan mia @ alice masa ni sgt x convincing masa bagi instruction nak steer kapal dr lanun2, plus she aged... really well. mcm umur 30+ sdangkn bru 26 years old
lakonan johnny depp, mcm biasa, same old, same old.. you know that is his style of acting, nothing new, nothing much to see.
Meols tengok kat Zee TV Jumaat lepas, filem tahun 2003 berjudul Pinjar.
Memang best, not your typical Bollywood movie.

Shortly after the death of her mother, medical student Nancy Adams (Blake Lively) travels to a secluded beach in Mexico to surf, which is also the same beach her mother surfed at after finding out she was pregnant with Nancy many years before. Nancy gets a ride to the beach from Carlos (óscar Jaenada), a friendly local resident, who refuses to tell her the beach's name, saying only that it is paradise. After arriving at the beach, Nancy joins two other local residents, and the three surf for several hours.
Taking a break from surfing, Nancy video-chats her sister Chloe (Sedona Legge) to let her know that she is surfing at their mother's beach. When she talks to her father (Brett Cullen), it is revealed that her mother's death has caused Nancy to consider dropping out of medical school. The conversation becomes emotional and strained, and Nancy hangs up to catch one more wave in the late afternoon before heading back to her hotel. While waiting for a wave, Nancy notices a large humpback whale carcass floating about twenty yards away. While riding a wave back to the beach, a large great white shark bumps her surf board, causing her to fall and hit her head on a submerged rock formation. As she surfaces to her board, the shark bites her leg, pulling her under. Nancy crawls onto the whale carcass, where she stays until the shark rams it from underneath. Nancy swims to an isolated reef, where she places a tourniquet on her leg to stop the bleeding. The two locals depart, unaware of Nancy's situation, leaving Nancy to spend the night on the reef with a wounded seagull, whom she names Steven, after Steven Seagal.
The next morning, Nancy sees a drunk local man passed out on the beach. She gets his attention, but he proceeds to steal her phone, money, and backpack. After noticing her surfboard floating in shallow water, he wades out to retrieve it, only to be torn in half by the shark. Several hours later, the two locals Nancy had surfed with the day before return. They get into the water before Nancy can warn them away, and both are killed by the shark. Nancy retrieves one of the men's GoPro camera helmet, and after another close attack from the shark, records a message for her father and sister, and then throws the helmet toward the shore.
With high tide approaching, Nancy knows the reef will be submerged soon. After sending Steven Seagull onto the other half of her surfboard and timing the shark's circles from the whale carcass to the reef, Nancy swims to a nearby buoy, narrowly avoiding the shark by swimming through a group of jellyfish, which sting both the shark and Nancy. Nancy is able to find a flare gun on the buoy, but cannot catch the attention of a passing cargo ship farther out to sea. Nancy shoots at the shark, which catches on fire because of all the whale blubber in the water. The shark begins furiously attacking the buoy, ripping out one of the chains securing it to the ocean bed. Nancy grabs onto the remaining chain. When it also breaks, she lets it pull her down to the ocean floor. The shark pursues Nancy down as fast as possible and is killed when it impales itself on the metal rods of the buoy's mooring.
The GoPro camera is found floating near the shore by Carlos' son who brings his father to the beach. Carlos then finds Nancy floating in the shallows as his son runs for help.
One year later, Nancy and Chloe are going surfing in Galveston, Texas as her father tells her that her mother would have been proud.
Airlift is a 2016 IndianWar Thriller film directed by Raja Krishna Menon, starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur.[4] The script, written by Raja Krishna Menon developed the idea after studying the whole incident of the war, and which he subsequently expanded. The film follows Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar), a Kuwait-based businessman, as he carries out the evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Invasion of Kuwait by Saddam Hussein's Iraq.[5][6]
With a budget of ₹300 million (US$4.5 million), the film premiered worldwide on 22 January 2016. The marketing of the film played an important role in the film's promotion and collaborated with the flight company Air India, who had a major contribution in the evacuation of record-breaking number of Indians during the war.
Verdict:
A new breath of air in Indian cinema, but still lots to be improved.
Despite the interesting sosio-political circumstances in which the film is set, the movie maintains the melodramatic style of acting and character portrayal of common Indian movies. Worth watching is Akshay Kumar's performance like never before, possibly his best.
always a fan of purge movies..mmg best..rasanya movie kali ni lagi better from the previous ones..berdebar-debar tengok and takleh imagine kalau ada one day where all crimes are legalized..dekat imdb rating is not so high but dont be deceived..give it a try

Jumaat minggu sudah p tengok Star Trek Beyond. Antara banyak2 star trek, sekuel yang ni paling best. Yang sebelum ni kalu tengok rasa nyampah kat James T Kirk tu, cliche sangat crita, hero adalah bad boy yang cerdik tapi sombong, dah la camtu buaya pulak.
Paling best watak Jaylah, cool abes. sungguh kick ass punya amoi. Dan juga Bones, sangat puaka mulut dia .

Malam tadi tengok filem Neerja.Wow, Bollywood really goes all out this year. Best biographical film I ever watched.
Lakonan Sonam Kapoor & Shabana Azmi memang outstanding, also the supporting roles (the hijackers) gives me goosebumps.
Neerja possibly will be nominated or even won many awards.

Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyuktha Chawla worked on the script, with principal photography taking place in Mumbai. The film features music by Vishal Khurana, with lyrics written by Prasoon Joshi. Neerja was released on 19 February 2016 to positive critical reception, with praise directed to Kapoor's performance, and became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films featuring a female protagonist.
