Benang nih bkn utk fokus psl poremer yg membincangkan. Itu dikira sbg personal attack kat poremer. ...
Saya discussed pasal luaran Amalina dan dalaman hati Amalina lah yang Tinot kata bangNah kata kita tak tahu hati dia macam mana so jangan backing Amalina.
Ikut luaran Amalina, tak nampak terang2 dia macam a nice person. So bagi dia benefit of the doubt yang dia sebenarnya baik dan nak sumbangkan tenaga kat negara ni in the future. Lagipun dia masih belajar belum habis pun lagi. Kita bukan privy to her thoughts yang kita tahu dia memang taknak langsung sumbang apa2 kat negara ni.
Also apa yang dia kutuk Malaysia? Dia komen on Dr Muhaya punya pendapat. Takde pun kutuk negara ni. Wardina tu yes komplen pasal sistem vaksinasi kita while not living here now. |

I need you to listen to my story.
I was one of the medical officer UD44 in a public hospital in Borneo, medical department.
I have resigned from KKM. To the surprise of myself, my family, and my colleagues.
(to be exact, I was offered to resigned)
I'm going to share with you about my life as a doctor in KKM.
1. We are severely understaffed.
In UK , there are 2.8 doctors for every 1000 population
In Sg , there are 2.3 doctors for every 1000 population
In Malaysia , there are 1.6 doctors for every 1000 population
UK NHS doctors are overstessed, they go for strike.
And their manpower is 75% more than ours.
And now, Malaysia KKM said we have too much doctors. No permanent placement for doctors.
Let's 'Hahahaha'.
2. We are not doing only doctor's job.
We are also doing jobs that can be easily outsource to non-medical trained personnel or allied healthcare, in other words: computer, PPK (porter), etc.
a lot of things in Malaysia is done manually.
We don't have the luxury to "just use a few clicks to get things done".
And we do not have phlebotomist (specialists in taking routine bloods).
Which means that all major hospitals in Malaysia are still asking junior doctors to take blood.
I have been PPK (porter) to send patients for Xrays (routinely) because we do not have enough PPK.
I have been running urgent bloods to lab myself.
"kan doctor gaji tinggi, buat sendiri lah".
(how many doctors have ever been replied this, please raise up your hand)
When I run TB clinic, I spent one hour to see one patient.
Because I need to make several phone calls to trace results (a call from sarawak to KL, and often it takes forever to be picked up)
need to arrange xray films for me to compare, need to fill up a lots of forms (easily up to 10 forms per patient).
And manually prescribed long lists of medications..
I need to walk over to Xray department to request for a CT scan.
But i might be spending less than 10 minutes to talk to my patient.
All these aren't necessary for a doctor to do. But I was doing them. Even our numbers are already much lower than other countries' counterpart.
3. We are underpaid, overworked.
As malaysia HO, our average working hours was minimum 60 hours per week
In UK, the maximum is 48 hours per week.
When I was house officer (trainee doctors) in surgery posting. We cannot cope with the low manpower. Things are worse when we run shift system.
So we requested to switch back to oncall system (you can understand as: we juniors doctors ask for longer working hours to make sure things run smoothly).
Hospital director is very unhappy. She wanted us to sign a letter claiming that this was our own willl and we would not be paid extra for oncall allowance.
I still remember vividly when I was a trainee doctor in visiting Urology week, I worked like a zombie and at the end of the week when everything is over, I went home and sleep on the floor of the living room (I can't even make my way to take a shower and sleep on my bed).
My monthly income is not a secret and you can find it in KKM official website.
Our starting pay is less than RM 4k plus including allowances.
Our oncall allowance is RM200 per call (read: work from 5pm to next day 8am, on top of the existing office hour. Which mean we easily work from 8am to next day 12pm or even later)
Our yearly bonus in KKM is RM500 to RM1000. Yes the one you saw in newspaper
Do you know what the recent news is about? Is cutting the critical allowance!
Yes, our monthly income of 4k plus (as trainee doctors) to 6k plus (medical officer with few years of experience) , is inclusive of this critical allowance.
By the description of the nature of our job, it sounds not critical enough? Sighed.
4. We are under trained.
You can argue that we have a lot of hands-on experience.
But we have very limited space for career progression (into master program).
If we are doing parallel pathway, most of it is UK exam and it costs us at least MYR 12-13k just for exam fees alone, not counting books, course, flights, hotel etc. Thanks to how strong MYR is.
All these fees are not claimable, yet ironically we are encouraged to go for the exam to learn more and serve better.
At the same time, my hospital only allow 7 days of training leave per year. You need extra? Use your annual leave.
7 days per year to make a internal medicine specialist. I laughed.
5. And, occasionally our security is also under threat.
Often we aren't respected even as a human being.
I was once physically threatened by male staff just because I wanted an hourly urine monitoring for an ill patient in surgical HDU (High dependancy unit).
Allied health can always challenge a doctor's decision but i guess is not through physical force?
There's lack of proper escalation channel.
Worse is, I was once blacked mailed by human resources officers (after I complained to hospital directors regarding her wrong protocol in salary calculations).
========================================
So all these aren't the main reason I resigned.
I passed my post graduate diploma and I wanted to get short period of training overseas (like three to six months) by taking non-pay leave.
My director said, we have too much medical officer, you can just resign to go somewhere else u like.
I have family to feed and thus I need to earn more.
I am very young in my career, I want to learn more.
Thus, I resigned for good.
So is KKM that bad? Well, I have to be honest that my clinical colleagues and bosses were probably the best I have ever met.
They taught me and helped me a lot.
But the admin site and the gov policies sucks.
Now. They want to cut critical allowance for junior doctors.
What. Do. You. Think.
Pardon my English and grammar. I expect a lot of error and typo.
