Cabrera rampas pendahulu
Cabrera, 37, yang memburu kejuaraan Jelajah Amerika Syarikat pertamanya memperoleh tiga birdie keseluruhan tetapi catatan cemerlangnya terjejas kerana turut mencatat empat bogey.

Hi Flames,
Good to know that you had a chance to do some swings in KL.
I'm not a qualified coach..sendiri pun huyung hayang...hehehehe..
Yesterday, Salz and I played 36 holes. Morning - Danau , afternoon - Bangi.
Salz performed very well while I did badly. He managed to get 3 birdies for 36 holes and of course Pars not to mention.
I was struggled in morning game but tried to recover in afternoon game...kind of too late, but have to accept the results.
I pun pernah main dengan female golfers. Tak de masalah.
See you next time! |

Golf/French Open: Novice Kamte on a high
VERSAILLES (France): South Africa抯 James Kamte grabbed a share of the first round lead in the French Open at the Golf National on Thursday coming in with a six-under 65.
The 24-year-old, who had to qualify to get into the main draw, had six birdies and an eagle against two bogeys in a spectacular round.
He was tied for the lead with the young Welshman Kyron Sullivan who came in late with six birdies in a bogey-free round.
There was a four-way tie for third place one stroke back featuring Swedes Steven Jeppesen and Christian Nilsson alongside English pair Benn Barham and Graeme Storm.
Home favourite Thomas Levet, trying to battle his way back after a vertigo illness, was solo on 67, while among the nine players grouped on 68 were French No 1 Raphael Jacquelin, Denmark抯 Thomas Bjorn and Scotland抯 Colin Montgomerie.
Kamte, a novice on the European PGA Tour, said it was a dream come true to be sitting atop the leaderboard in a big tournament so early in a career that he says owes much to compatriot Ernie Els and the foundation the three-time major winner finances back in South Africa.
"Ernie was one of these people who picked me up and was unbelievable to me," he said.
"I always said if I ever win one of the biggest events I would absolutely thank him right there on the spot He is the first guy I would thank.
"He gave me the opportunities to play at home when no-one would give me these opportunities and I really want to thank Ernie for that.
"If it wasn抰 for him, I wouldn抰 be sitting here today."
Montgomerie, who had a new caddie on his bag as he strived to emerge from a deep and worrying slump had a near-perfect start with three birdies in the first four holes.
After three-putting the short 16th, Montgomerie returned to three under by finding the edge of the green in two at the 563-yard third and two-putting.
He did drop another shot on the eighth, but made amends immediately and hitting 16 out of 18 greens in regulation was indicative of how well the eight-time European number one struck the ball in a testing wind.
The 44-year-old, still recovering from the bout of flu that struck him down after the US Open where he missed the cut, said that his birdies early on had kick-started his confidence.
"This is my type of golf course. You have to be very precise on distance and that抯 difficult because you can easily get wet," he said.
"I抳e got my swing back again, the one that I had back in the 90s. I can now hit on the left again. That was standard back in the 90s, it was what I used to do. Physically I抦 OK and I know that I can do it again." |

Golf: Mickelson to play at Scottish Open
LONDON: World No 2 Phil Mickelson has confirmed that, injury permitting, he will once more tee off in the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond in the week preceding next month抯 British Open at Carnoustie.
Mickelson has been struggling with a wrist injury since the US Open where he missed the cut.
But the American is hopeful he can recover in time to have another tilt at the British Open which he has never won.
"I like to compete the week before a major and going to the Scottish Open also helps me acclimatise," Mickelson said.
"I抦 well aware it抯 an inland course, but I抦 sure I抣l get the chance to play some links golf around the event."
It will be Mickelson抯 fifth entry at the Scottish Open which takes place this year from July 12-15, with his best showing to date being a seventh-place finish in 2000.
Also confirmed for Loch Lomond are world top 20 players Ernie Els, Luke Donald, Retief Goosen and Sergio Garcia.
Newly-crowned US Open champion Angel Cabrera, meanwhile, has signed up to play at the next week抯 European Open at the K-Club outside Dublin.
The Argentinian, who won his first major at Oakmont, Pennsylvania, had been due to play in this week抯 French Open at Versailles, but he announced his withdrawal late last week. |

Golf: Se Ri five strokes ahead
SYLVANIA (Ohio): Pak Se Ri, a four-time winner of the LPGA抯 Jamie Farr Classic, was poised for a run at a fifth title after taking a five-shot halfway lead on Friday.
The South Korean Hall of Famer fired four birdies and just one bogey on Friday in a three-under 68 for an 11-under total of 131.
She had seized the lead in the US$1.3 million (RM4.55 million) tournament with a 63 on Thursday.
Se Ri, who finished fourth here last year, is now two rounds away from her 24th career tournament title.
"I抳e finished the first two rounds and put up a good score," Se Ri said.
Five pars to start the round were followed by a birdie at the par-three sixth, where Se Ri fired an 8-iron to six feet. She made a five-footer for birdie on the par-five seventh and added a birdie from 16 feet at No 12.
A drive into the rough at 15 led to Se Ri抯 only bogey of the round. She rebounded at 16, however, draining a 22-foot birdie putt.
Her closest pursuer was compatriot Pak Jin Young, who was at 136 after a 69 at Highland Meadows Golf Club.
Defending champion Kim Mi Hyun of South Korea, who edged American Natalie Gulbis on the third hole of a playoff here in 2006, is tied for 27th at one-under after a 73. |

Golf: Green seizes John Deere lead
SILVIS (Illinois): Nathan Green fired a blistering eight-under-par 63 on Friday to seize a one-shot lead after two rounds of the US$4.1 million (RM14.35 million) John Deere Classic.
Green抯 12-under total of 130 gave put him one stroke clear of Sweden抯 Carl Pettersen and American Jason Dufner.
Seven of the last 10 champions here have made the tournament their first PGA Tour win, and Green would like to join them.
"There抯 some good vibes there, and I抎 love to get my turn at some stage," he said.
Green, an Australian with one top-10 finish in 19 US events this season, got off to a fast start with birdies at his first two holes.
He had back-to-back birdies at five and six and added another at No. 8.
Green, who did not have a bogey on Friday, added three more birdies on the back nine to grab the lead.
Green, who took the lead when he sank a four-footer for birdie at 17, said some time off at home in Australia after missing the cut at the US Open Oakmont helped his game.
Pettersson signed for an impressive 64, moving to 11-under 131 through 36 holes. The Swede抯 round included eight birdies and a bogey.
Dufner registered seven birdies and two bogeys en route to a 66.
First-round leader Neal Lancaster was alone in fourth at 10-under after a 68 |
