Ipoh folk to pay more for pau and dim sum
IPOH: Lovers of the Chinese-style halal pau and dim sum in Ipoh must be prepared to pay slightly higher prices this Ramadan.
A vendorat a Ramadan bazaar here, Maya Hassilla Hassan, 30, said she had to increase the price of the pau by 10 sen while dim sum prices had been raised by 20 sen per set compared with prices during Ramadan last year.
 Popular snack: Maya Hassilla steaming the pau and dim sum at her stall at a Ramadan bazaar in Ipoh.
“The chicken curry pau price now is RM1.60 compared with RM1.50 last year and the dim sum now costs RM3.20 per set compared with RM3 previously,” she said at her stall at the bazaar near the Indera Mulia Stadium.
She also sells pau with beef, kaya and red bean paste fillings.
Maya Hassilla said she had to increase prices because of additional costs incurred due to the hike in gas price.
“We have no choice but to increase the price, but it is very minimal,” she added. |
