Israeli authorities killed seven Palestinian children last year. Their parents are calling for justice

The banners with Ali Abu Alia's picture have been twisted by the wind. They hang above a house still in mourning.
White plastic chairs under olive trees remain in the front garden for visitors to pay respects and mark the death of a boy on his 15th birthday.
He was shot and killed in the centre of this small West Bank village, 200 metres from his home, on December 4.
Ali was the fifth child allegedly shot by Israeli forces in three weeks and the second from his village, Al Mughayyir, to die in the last two years.
"I will ask God to let them feel how I felt, to go through the same pain I had, to feel how it is to lose a son like I felt, to go through what I went through, to taste the bitterness," Ali's father Ayman Suleiman told the ABC.
Ali was shot in the abdomen during a confrontation between soldiers and villagers.
The clashes have become a regular feature of village life since Jewish settlers founded an outpost on a nearby hilltop.
Villagers throw rocks and burn tyres, and in response, soldiers fire rubber-coated bullets and tear gas.
Ali went to find his friends on his birthday
Ali's father said his son had walked down to the demonstration to see what was happening and invite friends to his house to eat birthday cake.
"Ali was only looking at the soldiers, he was no threat to them," he said.
"Ali was shot with weapon supplied with silencer … an internationally prohibited weapon.
"He fell to the ground and his friends didn't know what happened to him, but he had internal bleeding."
The Israel Defence Force said it was responding to "violent riots" at the village and confirmed it had used live ammunition.
"Dozens of rioters threw stones at IDF and Border Police forces, and also tried to roll large boulders and burning tires from the ridges that overlook the 'Alon' road, endangering the lives of passengers on the road," it said in a statement to the ABC.
"The military police has opened an investigation into the incident. The findings of the investigations will be presented to the Military Advocate General."
Why are children being shot?
Ali was the seventh Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces in 2020, according to Israeli human rights group B'Tselem.
"For years, Israel has been implementing a reckless, unlawful open-fire policy in the West Bank," the organisation said in a statement.
"This policy is fully backed by the Government, the military and the courts, in utter indifference to the predictable lethal results."
A further 127 children were wounded by rubber-coated bullets and 28 by live fire, according to the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz.
The IDF responded to questions about its use of force in statement.
"IDF forces operate in accordance with rules of engagement that are fitted to the area," it said.
"Any complaint or suspicion of misconduct by IDF forces is thoroughly checked as necessary."
The United Nations human rights commissioner said four children were shot in the West Bank in the fortnight before Ali's death, two with live ammunition.
Two were in intensive care, one had a fractured skull and the other lost his eye.
The IDF denied live ammunition was used in two of those incidents and said it was aware of reports that a child was injured during another.
But even when such cases are investigated, human rights groups say there is rarely any justice.
The 9-year-old boy who lost his eye
Malek Issa, 9, was returning from school in February 2019 when he was shot in the head by a border policeman in East Jerusalem.
The shooting took place on a busy street in front of several witnesses and a security camera.
After a 10-month investigation, Israeli prosecutors decided not to charge the officer.
"The decision is shameful," Malek Issa's lawyer, Ilanit Kirschenboin, told the ABC.
"According to the police, there is no evidence and the case was closed."
The Israel Border Police did not respond to questions about Malek Issa's shooting or the use of force against children.
Malek suffered multiple skull fractures and lost his eye. Now he has ongoing pain and psychological problems.
"Sometimes he will get depressed and he will cry, sometimes he will tell me, 'I want to die', so I can't leave him alone," his father Wael Issa said.
Malek's injury attracted widespread coverage in Israel, with many people expressing outrage.
"Do you know how many Israelis came to visit Malek at the hospital? Arabs and Israelis … Malek's story and what happened to him was painful to a lot of people, to the world in general," Mr Issa said.
"The police officers told me, there is something wrong, no-one meant to harm your son. The Mayor of Jerusalem came and hugged me, he told this wasn't done on purpose, [he] will make sure justice will be served."
Now, after all the assurances, Malek's family is left asking why the police officer will not be charged.
"This is not right," Mr Issa said.
"Why are they treating us like that? The police officer didn't shot Malek alone, he destroyed the life of our entire family. The police can't bring Malek's eye back, but at least they could take responsibly and give him the right justice."

Iols terserempak dgn cenel ni. Kaka percaya ka psl promised land?
Yeap, used to. Dalam Quran pun ada mentioned pasal promised land. Pro Zionist suka guna Surah 17:104 ni huntok justify perbuatan meka. Tapi Muslim sekarang tak mau acknowledged Israel 2021 as bani Israil mentioned in the Quran. So ... Kiamat nanti baru tau la sapa benar sapa salah.
