Rama Gupta, eldest son of Samudragupta came to power in 380 CE. But, he was captured in a battle with Shaka Satrap and had to abdicate after his release. His brother Chandragupta II Vikramaditya killed Shaka Satrap in an eloborate plot and ascended to throne. He ruled the empire untill c. 414 CE.

Samudragupta was son of Chandragupta I and succeeded him in c. 335 CE. He ruled the the empire until his death in 380 CE. Samudragupta minted seven different types of coins. He expanded his father's empire considerably.

Kumaragupta Mahendraditya son of Chandragupta II ascended to the throne and ruled the Gupta empire untill his death in c. 455 CE
