Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling has confirmed plans to relaunch its one-hour weekly programme TNA Xplosion this week.
The revamped format will include exclusive matches and storylines featuring TNA Superstars, along with crossover coverage from TNA's flagship series TNA iMPACT!.
"TNA features more talented Superstars now than ever before in company history, so it made sense to refresh Xplosion to keep pace with all the action," said TNA president Dixie Carter.
"This is the biggest, most talented roster TNA has ever seen and we want to expand our showcase of the world's best professional wrestling."
The new Xplosion's debut episode, which will air on June 25 at 9pm on the Extreme Sports Channel (Sky channel 419 and Virgin Media channel 527), will feature a clash between former TNA World Tag Team co-champion Magnus and former X Division champion Suicide.
Magnus will also join TNA Global champion Rob Terry and X Division champion Douglas Williams among the TNA Superstars to feature every week on Xplosion.
Speaking about the programme, Terry said: "I was lucky enough to become the TNA Global champion in my homeland of Wales this past January, and now I can promise fans across the United Kingdom and the entire world that I'll defend my title to all comers on Xplosion."
Xplosion's new presentation team will include previous backstage reporter Jeremy Borash and iMPACT! presenter Taz. |

How an ECW Invasion could see Sabu return to TNA Wrestling

Sabu is one of the most famous professional wrestlers that Extreme Championship Wrestling had to offer throughout the 1990’s. Sabu was arguably the epitome of extreme in ECW and one of the most unorthodox and hardcore wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring. As the nephew of The Sheik, Sabu followed in his uncles footsteps and went on to perfect the idealization of hardcore wrestling all over the world with epic and bloody matches against the likes of Terry Funk and Abdullah The Butcher among countless others.
Sabu has a reputation of doing what it takes to win as long as it leaves himself and his opponent battered, bloodied and beaten and more often than not, his limbs and wounds bandaged during the match just so he can continue. As of 2010, Tommy Dreamer, a fellow ECW alumni of Sabu’s made his debut in TNA Wrestling and later resurfaced alongside more ECW alumni with Raven and Stevie Richards at his side. Given the current potential of an ECW Invasion growing week after week, and also given the fact that Sabu’s best friend Rob Van Dam is the current TNA World Champion, should an ECW Invasion happen, could Sabu be once again headed for TNA Wrestling?
Sabu is no stranger to TNA Wrestling. When Ken Shamrock became the first TNA World Champion in 2002, Sabu was one of the first unexpected contenders to show up out of the crowd and push him to his limit and nearly capture the belt. A short while later, Sabu returned once again and engaged in a bloody rivalry with Abyss that left him further battered and torn, and added a few scars to his list after a brutal barb wire massacre. Since then, he has made several appearances with the promotion but never on a long-term basis. Now, as it stands, with the potential of an ECW Invasion in TNA Wrestling and all of his fellow friends and ECW alumni apart of the roster, Sabu himself may be on his way to the growing promotion.
Sabu would arguably fit in perfectly with the ECW Invasion given his status as one of ECW’s finest. Sabu has engaged in bloody rivalries with every ECW alumni on the TNA roster today and therefore, aligning himself with them would be perfect considering the sudden alignment of long term enemies Raven, Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards. Sabu himself has a history with both his ECW alumni and members of the TNA roster themselves and therefore, adding Sabu to the ECW Invasion would make perfect sense for both parties involved.
The time has never been better for Sabu, who is arguably one of the most extreme men on the planet, to make a return to the mainstream world of professional wrestling for the first time in several years. Should Sabu make his long awaited and highly anticipated return to TNA Wrestling as apart of an ECW Invasion angle, blood, sweat and a few hundred bandages should be in waiting for the homicidal, genocidal suicidal maniac as he laces up his boots once again for the fastest growing promotion in the history of professional wrestling, whether representing Extreme Championship Wrestling or TNA Wrestling alike. |

1. Ultimate X Submission Match for the TNA X-Division Title: Douglas Williams © defeated Brian Kendrick by submission/knockout with a cobra clutch.
2. Triple Threat Match: Brother Ray defeated Jesse Neal and Brother Devon via a Bubba Bomb on Neal.
3. TNA Knockouts Title Match: Angelina Love defeated Madison Rayne © via referee decision to become the new Knockouts champion. A pre-match stipulation said that interference from any member of The Beautiful People would cause a title change. A mystery woman in a helmet and black cat suit interfered in the match, causing the referee to award the title to Love. The person didn't unmask and wasn't revealed as one of The Beautiful People after the title changed hands, so who knows.
Note: Reports say the masked woman was former Knockouts champion Tara, formerly Victoria in WWE. According to PWInsider, she is officially back with the company.
4. AJ Styles and Kazarian defeated mystery opponents Samoa Joe and Rob Terry when Styles pinned Terry with a springboard 450 splash.
5. Steel Cage Match: Hernandez defeated Matt Morgan by escaping the cage. Editorial: cage grudge matches built around one of the wrestlers not being able to escape the cage ending with someone escaping the cage are dumb.
6. Jay Lethal defeated Ric Flair, making him submit to the figure four leglock.
7. Tournament Finals for the vacant TNA Tag Team Titles: Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) defeated Beer Money, Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) to become the new TNA Tag Team Champions after Shelley pinned Roode following a frog splash/neckbreaker combination.
8. Kurt Angle defeated Pope D'Angelo Dinero with the ankle lock.
9. 4-way Match for the TNA World Title: Rob Van Dam © defeated Mr. Anderson, Abyss, and Jeff Hardy after a Five Star Frog Splash on Anderson. After the match Abyss tried to attack Van Dam with a 2 x 4, but was unsuccessful. |

Confirmed: TNA Hard Justice to Be An ECW-Style PPVPosted by: Wrestling-Radio.com
Wrestling-Radio.com is now able to officially confirm that the upcoming TNA Hard Justice pay-per-view event will in fact be an ECW-style event. Tommy Dreamer and Dixie Carter announced during last night's TNA iMPACT! taping that the event will be "one last night" for the former ECW stars to put on an ECW-style show that they will be in charge of.
So far, the only match announced for the event has been Rob Van Dam defending the TNA Championship against Abyss in an Extreme Anything Goes Match. |
