ang Hyuk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Park Se Young Confirmed for New Medical Drama

Actors Jang Hyuk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Park Se Young have been confirmed to star in KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Beautiful Mind” (working title).

On April 26, an affiliate of the drama industry stated, “Jang Hyuk, Yoon Hyun Min, and Park Se Young have been confirmed to appear on ‘Beautiful Mind’ and they will attend the first script reading on April 28.”

However, the female lead has not been decided yet. Actress Park So Dam was previously courted to play it, but she hasn’t accepted the offer yet. It is possible that the first script reading will go on without her.

In the drama, Jang Hyuk will be playing Young Oh, a genius neurosurgeon who has no sympathy whatsoever. However, when he starts noticing that his patients are dying in strange ways and he starts loving someone, he slowly grows to become a better person.

Yoon Hyun Min’s character is the complete opposite of Jang Hyuk’s character. He will be playing Hyun Suk Joo, a fellow neurosurgeon who has a lot of compassion towards his patients and is a trustworthy being for all of his friends. As you can see, Yoon Hyun Min and Jang Hyuk will be playing parallel characters.

Park Se Young will play Kim Min Jae, a colleague in the department of neurology in Hyun Sung Hospital. She graduated from a different university than her colleagues, but she is an intelligent and beautiful doctor who earned her name as the best doctor in Hyun Sung Hospital.

“Beautiful Mind” will start filming soon, and it will air in June after “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho” finishes its run.

“Beautiful Mind” releases photos of Jang Hyuk reading scripts on set seriously

31 May, KBS2 TV releases on-set photos of new Monday/Tuesday drama “Beautiful Mind”, which shows male lead Jang Hyuk reading his scripts seriously when not filming.

In one of photos, Jang Hyuk, who was dressed in a doctor’s robe, was seen studying his scripts. In the other photos, he was dressed in a black suit, discussing the scripts with the other actors on the set.

Earlier, when asked about his feelings on joining this drama, Jang Hyuk said that “This drama allows me to wear a doctor’s robe again after 9 years. I hope to bring out the best of the character through this drama, and hope that everyone will support it”.

“Beautiful Mind” releases second teaser, Jang Hyuk and cast in “round-table meeting”

1st June, KBS2 releases new second teaser for new Monday/Tuesday drama “Beautiful Mind”

In the teaser, main characters Lee Young Oh (Jang Hyuk), Kim Min Jae (Park Se Young), Lee Gun Myung (Heo Joon Ho), Kang Hyun Joon (Oh Jung Se), Kim Yoon Kyung (Shim Yi Young) and others sit in a circle, as if in deep discussion of some issue. With the exception of Lee Young Oh, we can see some feelings from everyone else’s speeches or actions. Lee Young Oh’s cold and expressionless demeanour, together with the on-screen words “not able to feel others’ feelings, alone even among 50 million people” makes one curious about the type of character he is going to be.

“Beautiful Mind” is a drama about how an outstanding doctor who does not expresses his feelings easily, finds his love and regains his humanity after being involved in the bizarre death of his patient. It will premiere on 20th June 10pm.

She is a long-time friend of Lee Young Oh, and also his lover. During her internship, he ignored her initially as she graduated from a countryside hospital. She is his sunflower.
