IT was a week best left forgotten for Malaysian football. The 10-nil drubbing in the hands of United Arab Emirates is still vivid in our minds. Many Malaysians took the time and effort to berate the national team - Harimau Malaya. I was one of them! We love our sports and if it does not go well, we tend to be very critical about it. It is natural for a human being to judge things and there is nothing wrong in it. As a writer, I made my point clear that the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) needs a colossal revamp but my love for the Harimau Malaya never fades.
Anger, hate and disgust come but love stays. I was upset but I wanted to show my support for the team. Together with my colleague Rashvinjeet Singh, we went to Shah Alam Stadium to watch Malaysia play against Middle East giants Saudi Arabia in the 2018 World Cup Qualifying Group A match on Tuesday. The odds were against us and some predicted a meek turnout. However, there were tens of thousands of people in the stadium and it was good to see some fans standing behind the team eventhough they were humiliated the week before. Some fans still believed in the team and hoped that interim coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee would do his best to galvanise the team.
First half was a pretty one-sided affair as the Saudi Arabia dictated the tempo but our players were up for it and were tactically disciplined.
While our players strut their stuff, Rashvin and I realised that there was something missing - the Ultras Malaya.
This group, in their own words, have an "insane passion" for their sporting heroes and go to extremes to show their support of and pride towards the national team.
I thought they would come in the 31st minute to symbolise their protest against the FAM leadership, which has been led by the Pahang royalty for 31 years.
The 31st minute passed and they were no signs of the Ultras. Rashvin told me that they are here but have yet to come out in full force.
There were the 'Gendangs'' and 'Chants' but the usual Ultras chants were not there and some fans were thinking that they had boycotted the game.
In the 40th minute, they came and made their presence felt. FAM was not spared! From one stand, they slowly moved to their curva chanting 'FAM Bangsat.'
Fans were pleased to see their entry and some of them gave a standing ovation. Their words may be sharp but some fans knew they loved our football.
However, it proved to be the wrong entry and they certainly showed the ugly side of football.
In the 87th minute, flares were thrown into the pitch and I thought it would stop there.
But no, fireworks were launched to the pitch and stands. Players were running for their lives and even the imposing figure Junior Eldstal just wanted to escape from the 'circus'.
Two fireworks hit our stands and it was frightening to say the least. Never in my life have I experienced such a thing.
The guys that I used laud were behaving like hooligans. They have been loud and boisterous but now, very rowdy!
If that was not enough, Saudi fans were attacked by some masked my believed to be the Ultras. I could not believe what was happening.
Is this my peaceful country? Are they really my people? Answers seem to be a bane for me at the time!
As we went to the stand where Saudi fans were seated, I could clearly see the fear in their eyes.
One guy who injured his leg, tapped my shoulder and said, "Is this really Malaysia?"
I could not answer and I just told him to stay in the holding area and let police handle the situation.
We always stand and cheer for you and this is what you do to us? Even if the team is not playing well, we will always stand up for you because we always thought that you were the real '12th man'.
After yesterday's incident, I was wrong. You have showed your ugly side, a side we did not want to see at all.
Football is beautiful game and you have certainly marred it with your antics. The Saudi fans wanted to see a good match but you have made sure that they would not come again.
Violence is a no-no and to resort to such tactic is 'below the belt'.
Ultras Malaya should be ashamed themselves over what happened. Now fans will not be able to watch matches if FIFA decides to impose closed door matches for Malaysia.
You think FAM cares about your antics... Now they will be even more resilient! You wanted them to quit but now things will go against you.
Thank you for putting us on the map for wrong reasons. If that was your mission, you have lost my respect, Ultras Malaya!

dia ingat yg gie stadium tu puak dier saja agaknya...
Haramkan ULTRAS, BUBARKAN FAM, tengok RAGBI PULAK LEPAS NI...semua nak jadi bangsat.

rasanya ultras pun tak minta dihormati..objektif mereka hanya satu, FAM mendengar suara penyokong akar umbi..kalau tak dibuat begini rasanya sampai bila2 FAM tak take notice

Nak rakyat buat macam mana lagi?

tiada jaminan FAM akan peduli tapi makin ramai sedar tentang isu kelemahan FAM membangunkan bolasepak negara..selama ini mereka yang mengikuti perkembangan bola sahaja tahu tentangnya..selepas ini seluruh rakyat dan mungkin seluruh dunia tahu mengapa ultras bertindak sedemikian

Cuma sekrang ni takut boleh jadi salah faham pulak dengan negara ereb..
Harap2nya adalah rakyat yang cerita kisah sebenar pada mereka..
Nanti mereka ingat ultras bengang sbb kalah dengan ereb..
so try nak sabotaj..Try nak cederakan pemain dorang...
Cuma me harap sangat malam tadi ultras ada tulis banner dalam bahasa arab untuk menjelaskan niat mereka..
tapi xde..

ingat BUBAR FAM, boleh ubah keadaan ker.......nak suruh TMJ jadi presiden.....suruh dia jadi pelakon lagi baik.

rakyat malaysia dihimpit pelbagai ujian kebelakangain ini dengan isu politik, rasuah, gst, harga barang, harga rumah yang tak terkawal,kejatuhan mata wang, cuaca jerebu dan banyak lagi.
Yang tinggal untuk menggembirakan hati rakyat malaysia ialah perkara2 bodo seprti layan Amran Fan, pakcik kulop, dubsmash, dan SUKAN.
Tak payah cakap pasal ragbi, bola jaring la bagai, sbb 2 sukan yang paling diminati majoriti rakyat malaysia ialah badminton dan bola sepak. Badminton dah lingkup jadi tinggal bola sepak.
Yang cakap " pasal bola pun nak gado" ni mungkin betul. tapi untuk sebilangan orang bola sepak adalah satu perkara penting untuk mereka.
Jadi apabila tahap bola sepak malaysia macam "bo bo bo la kampung" lepas tu pendtadbiran tak tukar... apa lagi harapan rakyat malaysia. Mereka sudah smpai tahap tidak boleh tahan dan terpaksa berbuat begini.
Puas sudah mereka bersorak semasa perlawanan liga, malaysia cup, tetapi mesej mereka tak sampai. Ingat lagi kain rentang anjing FAM? lepas tu apa jadi? still sama.
Memang memalukan Malaysia tetapi harapan mesej ini smpai ke pihak FIFA dan FAM . Alang2 dah ranking corot, why not reset back, tukar management dan tukar style management.
Macam ada sorang anak Soltan tu cakap, dari beli player luar negara, bawak berlatih pergi luar negara, why not bawak jurulatih dari luar. Bukan tak percaya kepada malaysian can lead, tapi kalau jurulatih dari luar yang mmg dari negara bola sepak seperti itali, jerman, belanda, etc... kenapa tidak? |

Angry fans halt Malaysia-Saudi Arabia World Cup qualifier
SHAH ALAM, Malaysia: Flare-throwing fans forced Malaysia’s World Cup qualifier with Saudi Arabia to be abandoned on Tuesday as they vented their anger over last week’s record 10-0 defeat to UAE.
Militant “Ultras Malaya” fans hurled flares billowing orange smoke late in the game as the hosts trailed 2-1, forcing players, officials and other supporters to take cover.
Officials cleared Shah Alam Stadium and after a lengthy suspension, the match was formally called off. Police said 11 people had been arrested on charges of rioting.
“The game is suspended. The game isn’t going to continue,” interim coach Ong Kim Swee said.
Last week’s result in Abu Dhabi has tipped Malaysia into crisis, with former coach Dollah Salleh resigning and the national governing body’s football also promising to quit.
Tuesday’s ugly scenes heap yet more woe on football in Malaysia, which hosts the Asian Football Confederation headquarters but has long been plagued by fan violence and match-fixing.
About a dozen flares trailing orange smoke — as well as loud fireworks — were let off by home fans in the 88th minute. Unconfirmed reports said two Saudi supporters were attacked.
Stand-in coach Ong had earlier urged fans not to disrupt the game in protest at last week’s defeat, which was the latest in a series of embarrassing results.
Earlier Malaysia were held 1-1 at home by East Timor and lost 6-0 to Palestine. They lie bottom of Group A in the World Cup qualifiers, which double as a route to the 2019 Asian Cup.

itula..setengah penduduk dunia anggap bolasepak neh escapism.itu sbb wujudnya ultras.jenis yg mati psl bola pun takpe.rata2 pemain bola dunia pun dari kalangan org miskin kalo tak mid class.kalo negara mcm brazil,argentina terma it's just a football tu macam tak wujud.tapi aku masih percaya..ultras malaya tak seserius ultras kat europe dan hanya ikut-ikutan saja...

Ultras tu ape? Macam kelab ke? Kena tukar la kepimpinannya dah nampak sangat rosak nye ni. Jika sekolah performance Cikgu nyer teruk, tentulah Guru Besar nya yang bertanggungjawab. Kalau kedai prestasi teruk tentulah tuanpunyanye punya responsibility. Di luar negara, orang orang pegang jawatan sebegini memang akan terima hakikat bahawa mereka telah gagal dan mereka sendiri pon yang akan turun; kita nampak di dalam social services mereka, dalam departments mereka, dalam strata kerajaan dan swasta mereka. If gagal, berlalu lah.

betul la kata bro yg tulis artikel ni.....tapi apa cara nak mintak tengku tu letak jawatan dan revamp FAM???? macam bershit nak mintak najib letak jawatan menunjukkan rasa tak puashati dgn demo (even aku tak sokong demo 100% tapi najib harus step down).....ultras plak guna cara ni dgn anggapan FIFA ban FAM.....tapi caranya agak hash...aku boleh kata 60% sokong another 40% tak sokong cara ni dgn harapan FAM bukak mata dan aku setuju jika KJ gantung je FAM ni dan buat pemilihan balik untuk semua post J/kuasa nya dan please jgn ada sorang pun politician dan royals dalam badan induk sukan tu, hanya org yg berkaitan dgn bola yg ada passion dan bekas2 pemain serta jurulatih je boleh menganggotai J/kuasa FAM.
