6/9 CAN'T LOSE FAN MEET: IDEAL WORLD CUP
Credit: CJWFC by SHUN Posted by CECE via THE ONE AND ONLY CHOI JI WOO via EverythingLBH.com
The event organizer put Choi Ji Woo on spot by making her participate in the Ideal World Cup game. Oh boy.
As soon as the photos of 8 actors whom she had partnered with in the past appeared on the jumbo screen, she knew she was in for a wild ride^^. Yoon Sang Hyun looked at the screen then looked at JW, he widely smiled, perhaps thinking she's in a big trouble now. JW was instructed to select one of the two actors who appeared on the screen as her ideal. The organizer determined in advance which actors would be paired together. Then, the winners would move on to round #2 to find the ideal man thus crowned the coveted Cup. so cliche but a fun game.
ROUND #1
1. Yoon Sang Hyun vs. Lee Byung Hun
Yoon Sang Hyun shook his head and said "surely, it won't be me". Detecting that she was in an awkward position, he continued "don't worry about me..just choose comfortably". Aww..YSH is seriously the sweetest man. (**touching my heart**)
And the winner.... Lee Byung Hun. As soon as she picked LBH, the room was in an uproar.
2. Jo Han Sun vs. Lee Jung Jae
Ji woo picked Lee Jung Jae
3. Kwon Sang Woo vs. Yoo Ji Tae
She picked Kwon Sang Woo
4. Yutaka Takenouchi vs. Bae Yoong Jun
In spite of the audience screaming for BYJ, she picked Yutaka! BYJ got eliminated. shocking!
ROUND #2
1. Lee Byung Hun vs. Lee Jung Jae
Not surprisingly, she picked Lee Byung Hun again.
2. Yutaka vs. Kwon Sang Woo
Yutaka stood firm against a long term friend Kwong Sang Woo
FINAL ROUND - ****DRUM ROLL ***
And the winner is LEE BYUNG HUN!!! Congratulations! Ching "Hyc" rest in peace, this one is for you sis!
Yoon Sang Hyun immediately asked why chose him? She said "Because LBH and I collaborated 3 times in the past, he's a senior and a good friend, that's why I voted for him."
Comment (by CECE):
YSH might have a good chance of moving on to round #2 had he not been paired with Lee Byung Hun. I thought that YSH should have been given the opportunity to play the ideal cup game, to be fair you know. But in the end, the winner is what we care about the most.
If I remember correctly, when asked about her ideal drama partner in a past interview, she too had chosen LBH. She mentioned LBH was a charismatic guy and he taught her important acting techniques. This is the same guy whom she claimed they used to talk for hours discussing over acting partners, directors, and projects. And about why she chose Yutaka over BYJ, err..I am as baffled as you are. haha.
I watched this Ideal World Cup game a lot in the past, and I used to question the validity of the answers especially when the participant is a big star. Are they giving a truthful answer or a safe answer? Is their selection based on appearance or personality or both? Lee Byung Hun, you'd better call Ji Woo to say "thanks for picking me and happy birthday". ^^
Are you surprised that the final round was LBH vs. Yutaka? I truly didn't expect YSH & BYJ to be eliminated in round one. |

Lee Byung Hun will leave for the U.S. on June 20 to leave his hand prints in Hollywood.
Lee Byung Hun will leave for Los Angeles from Incheon International Airport with his staff on June 20 at 4:30 p.m. (KST).
Ahead of his hand printing, Lee Byung Hun will hold a few activities there, as well as conduct interviews.
On June 23 (local time) at 1 p.m. in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Lee Byung Hun will take part in the hand printing ceremony.
At the press conference for G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation in April, the actor had shared his feelings on the honor saying, “I couldn’t believe it at first and thought they were lying. I still can’t believe it now. I think only after I actually do the hand printing, will I realize it’s true. Making my prints in front of the Chinese Theater is something I never even dreamed of. It is a great honor.”
His agency BH Entertainment shared its feelings on the honor with enews saying, “Though we do think it’s a bit premature, it means Hollywood has that much interest in Lee Byung Hun.”
This hand printing event is part of the American agency Looking East’s two day ‘Looking East 2012 Korean Movie Festival’ to be held on June 23 and June 24.
The Grauman’s Chinese Theater served as the home of the Academy Awards from 1927 until 1946. The theater’s forecourt contains some 268 hand and foot prints of past and current celebrities.
