Is Public Mutual Really That Good ?

Risk means uncertainty of outcome. The stock market reacts negatively to risk. Whenever the stock market has a lot of uncertainties, all stocks - regardless of whether they are good or poor fundamental stocks - will be hammered down.

However, we always believe crisis means opportunities. The recent drop in market prices creates magnificent investment opportunities. Even though the market may drop further as there are still a lot of uncertainties and outstanding negative news pending announcement, we believe there is great opportunity for long-term investment.

According to Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his book entitled The Black Swan,we should stop trying to predict anything and instead take advantage of uncertainty.

A lot of investors or analysts may spend a lot of time trying to predict the market bottom. We should not try to predict when the market will reach its bottom as we will never know until it happens.

So kesimpulannya,
Kalau kita tidak bertindak, tak buat apa2.......kita tak akan dapat apa2.
Dan satu lagi favourite quote saya adalah:

PIOF's return for july to dec 2007 is 50%!
yes, it could be closing lower a bit now, but i believe it will go up again. just lay it there , and it will go up again in 5 years time when the market is up again.

Unit trusts is a moderate to long term investment. you wont get profit in one or two years.

now, it is good to buy unit trusts invested in china market. e.g Public china ittikal.
why? stock market/shares up and down not just because of inflation - it is influcned by sentiments as well. Olympic will be held in China, foreign investments are will be centred around china, after 08.08.2008. so you may want to buy China ittikal now, it is as low as 16sents a unit, because after OLYMPIC 08.08.2008, it will go up!

tak bagus pun sekarang ni Public Mutual......malah semua Unit Trust company.....CIMB WEALTH ke, Prudential ke, CMS, Hwang DBS, AFFIN, Uni Asia.....semua jatuh teruk....tahun ni saja negative ntah berapa-berapa dah......-30% dah kot.

Kalau ekonomi unstable, senario negative return like this is very common..
