Kalau dari bumi Malaysia dah bawa barang beratnya 8 kg maka max berat luggagee masa nak balik hanya 12 kg shj (air zam zam memang tak masuk kiraan)....setiap lebihan kena caj SR90 sekg....banyak tu. ...nanti tak dak riyal masa nak bayar excess baggage tu.. |

Saudi Arabia: Hi-tech system to sterilise cisterns of Zam Zam water
JEDDAH -- A fully automated system to sterilise the cisterns that store Zam Zam water in the precincts of the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Makkah has been commissioned, according to Muhammad bin Nasir Al Khozaim, deputy president general of the Presidency of Haram Mosque Affairs.
The new facility has the capacity to handle 6,300 cisterns daily. The coolers are cleaned from inside and outside with ordinary water and then they are dried before being filled with the Zam Zam water. The coolers are changed annually and their number is increased in Ramadan and Haj seasons.
In another development, the Presidency of Haram Mosque Affairs has installed an electronic applications unit to prepare and implement the electronic applications at the presidency and the supervision of the Internet unit.
The presidency intends to connect all its administrative offices in a networking system. More than 400 employees of its various administrative offices have been trained in handling computer systems.
Meanwhile, two rainwater drainage tunnels in Makkah, built about two decades ago, were recently repaired and strengthened at an estimated cost of between SR300 and 400 million by filling them with gravel in order to prevent their collapse. The tunnels were constructed 20 years ago without conducting detailed studies on their effect on the hydrogeology of the area.
The government has installed new drainage networks, rendering the old tunnels redundant. The project was aimed at improving water quality in the area and protect Zam Zam water. "The two tunnels had a negative effect on the hydrogeology regime in the area. They also had an adverse effect on the Zam Zam water level," the project's supervisor Samer Al Shouman told reporters.
"The objective was also to stabilise the earth around the tunnels as a possible collapse would endanger structures above them," Al Shouman explained. The Saudi Binladin GroupSaudi Binladin Group

implemented the project under the supervision of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS). Al Shouman, who is also director of the Zam Zam Studies and Research Centre at SGS, said the centre works to ensure safe supply of the holy water.
The centre has set up a series of study projects to define, quantify and monitor the water source and provide the information needed to manage and sustain supplies in the face of increasing demand.
The Zam Zam Well is 30.5 metres deep and has a diametre ranging from 1.08 to 2.66 metres. The well lies within Wadi Ibrahim, which runs through Makkah.
"This is the first such project in the world," said Muhammad Tawfiq, president of SGS, after inspecting arrangements to carry out the project, which was ordered by The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
"The new project will not change the hydrogeological features of the area and will not affect the quantity or quality of the water around the tunnels," he said.
