The Netherlands will be at full strength for Sunday's World Cup final against Spain after star playmaker Wesley Sneijder dispelled concerns over his fitness by returning to training.
Sneijder had not trained since suffering cramps in his calf muscles after Tuesday's semifinal win over Uruguay but has now recovered fully, according to Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk.
"Everyone is fully fit," he said.
Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has also shaken off a hip problem, leaving van Marwijk with a full squad to choose from.
The Dutch are expected to make two changes to the side that faced Uruguay, with first-choice right back Gregory van der Wiel and defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong both available again after serving one-match suspensions. |

Dutch prepare for final with a trip to the zoo
JOHANNESBURG, July 10 (Reuters) - Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk made a slight tweak to his usual pre-match preparations ahead of Sunday's World Cup final against Spain by taking his squad on an afternoon stroll around the zoo.
The 58-year-old, blessed with a healthy squad for the biggest match of his life at Soccer City, said he had tried to keep preparations as normal as possible despite the magnitude of the occasion.
"This is the most important match in my football life and that counts for all players as none of us ever won the World title," Van Marwijk told a news conference at Soccer City on Saturday.
"Though I approach it like a normal match with the preparation we always have. We walked in the morning but this time we walked through the zoo as it was nearby. Then we rested and went training." |

JOHANNESBURG (ANP) - Het Nederlands elftal begint zondagavond om 20.30 uur met een fitte selectie aan de finale van het WK tegen Spanje. Oranje trainde zaterdagavond voor de laatste keer in Zuid-Afrika. Alle spelers bleven ongedeerd tijdens de afsluitende oefensessie in het Soccer City Stadium van Johannesburg.
De voetballers van het Nederlands elftal oogden ontspannen tijdens de training. Er werd veel gelachen. Bondscoach Bert van Marwijk liet zijn spelers langdurig afwerken op doel. Veel doelpunten werden met luid gejuich begroet.
Vermoedelijke opstelling: Stekelenburg; Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Mathijsen en Van Bronckhorst; Van Bommel en De Jong; Robben, Sneijder en Kuijt; Van Persie. |
