Indeed... in fact, I did mention that one of the five Ko-hyoteki-class midget submarines managed to enter Pearl Harbor and successfully fired a torpedo into the USS West Virginia. At least ada jugak sebijik torpedo penangan sub kecil Jepun masa di Pearl Harbor pada 7 Disember 1941. Do you have info about the Allied sub that did specops at Pantai Merdeka, Kedah during WWII. British, Italian midget subs operate during which war successfully? |

This DCN sub is not a midget submarine that they used in WW2. |

ff: I believe the subs are there to finish whatever ships the planes missed... anyway the the greatest exploit of the brit midget subs, called x-craft is the damaging of the German battleship Tirpitz. It is said that the Tirpitz would never be sunk at Trondheim but for the action the X-craft. The Italians actually use human torpedoes, rather than midget subs...still they manage to sink battleships Valiant and Queen Elizabeth, cruiser Dragon and a tanker. |

This week, several amateur Australian divers discovered a midget submarine most probably Japanese from WW2 off the coast of Sydney.
This sub is presumably one of the three midget subs identified deployed to attack the Sydney harbor. The subs managed to launch a torpedo and killed 19 Australian aboard a marine vessel. Two of the subs failed in their mission while the third went missing until recently. |

Small submarine surfaces at show | Richard Scott |
[table] | ![](http://idex.janes.com/docs/idex2007/sections/moxiepix/t109.gif) | France抯 DCN (Stand 1300, French Pavilion) is showing a new low-cost coastal submarine concept aimed at navies looking to modernise their existing submarine force or acquire a submarine capability for the first time.
The design, known as SMX-23, has been conceived 搕o address a perceived market requirement for a robust, affordable and supportable submarine, capable of performing a range of littoral defence missions |

Rakyat Colombia yang menyangka sudah menyaksikan semua taktik diguna pengedar dadah terkejut dengan penemuan baru itu iaitu penyeludupan kokain menggunakan kapal selam.

RSN officially described the Challenger class submarines as training submarines. These submarines are old but have undergone upgrading by the Swedes, officially termed as 'tropicalisation' but of course the true extent of these upgrades cannot be revealed publicly.
These subs are underwater naval combatants so they can still be deadly despite their age. This is because they are designed to operate in coastal waters like those in our region.
These vessels are mainly for training purposes and for Singapore to come out with a submarine warfare doctrine. They are meant to prepare RSN with a relatively newly formed submarine fleet for newer and more advanced submarines in the future such as with AIP technology.
I will like to see some midget subs in RSN as they are useful for covert insertion of special forces, in this case our elite naval divers. However, only a few countries build and operate midget subs, one of which is North Korea.

Sorry pal, but our Sjoormen subs are just pathetic modernised relics meant to test out the feasibility of the submarine concept for RSN. And our AIP Vastergotlands are just a temporary interim solution while we wait for the A26 AIP.
So, don't compare. How long can non-AIP scorpenes last submerged without snorkelling? A week? How long can AIP subs last? 3 weeks?
As for the Sjoormen's hydrodynamic capabilities, I would like to point out that it's actually known for it's teardrop shaped hull.
And how long has RMN been operating submarines? Someone might like to remind me when your Agosta entered training service? How long has RSN been operating submarines?
And so what if it's second hand? It works, that's all we need to know, and anyway a Swedish submarine was leased by the USN and during wargames it "sank" the USS Ronald Reagan. And best of all, at least we don't make side deals with "middlemen".
And as for Singalion, let's just say every country has it's own IronMalayan/Tangopapa/Razhar. |
