The latest update on ‘Big’ D2B
So firstly, how is Big doing?
“Right now he’s okay, same as usual, we’re still taking him to the doctors and he has an appointment at the hospital every 3 months”
“Big’s doctor right now is called Dr Nipon Pongwarin at Sirirach hospital”
“Big went to see his doctor not long ago, the day he went, I even allow the press to come and film us”
“So basically, Big’s condition right now is still the same as what was said on the news that day”
So he’s still not responding?
[i] “No, he’s responding but not a lot, like he can blink and move his legs and arms and stuff like that, sometimes he even had tears in his eyes, and when he’s in pain he is able to show it in his face”
Is he still taking the same medication?
“Yes, he’s still taking the same anti fungal drug and he will continue to take this same drug till August”
“As for food, we are feeding him whatever the doctor’s ordered, we give him milk and brand and some liquid foods”
“We’re still tube feeding him”
From all the treatment that he’s done in the past, has he improved much?
“The truth is, with Big’s condition, it’s not possible for him to recover in just one day, it takes time and I’m not expecting anything, I understand the situation, but from spending time with him on a daily basis, I feel that he is improving”
Do you and your husband still get up early every morning to take care of him?
“Yes, we still do, every single day”
Do you still get nurses come around to help you?
“Yes, but not everyday, not all the time”
Is Big still receiving daily physiotherapy?
“Yes, and every weekend, nurses will come around to assist us and give Big a proper physio session, but on the other days his father will massage him and do whatever that’s needed”
Can I ask about the cost of the medical bills? I heard RS Promotion is no longer paying for this?
“Umm, I don’t really want to discuss this topic anymore because each time I discuss this, it seems my words gets changed around so much and the wrong information is being printed the next day”
“And sometimes, I don’t even know what I said in some of the interviews, anyways, let’s not talk about this topic because I don’t know what to say anymore”
In that case, can you tell us approximately how much his illness has cost you?
“It’s very very expensive”
“One of the vaccines that Big needs to get is called ‘Botulinum Toxin’ and this vaccine alone cost us around 30,000 baht each time”
“Big needs to get this vaccine once every 3 months and it is very expensive, but it makes him better so I’m willing to pay the price”
We heard some of Big’s fanclubs are running an Auction website to raise money for Big’s medical bills
“Yes, I heard, they told me, but I don’t really know much about it, it’s not my idea, but his fans are constantly doing things for him”
“I never really help them but when they come over and ask for Big’s clothes and some of Big’s belongings, I always give it to them, they are helping me out a lot”
“And Big has these two toys that he use to sleep with at night, I gave them one of them to put up for Auction”
Do you still allow the fans to come and visit?
“Yes, but I only allow them to come on the weekends, and they come every week, some times I get tired so that’s why I only limit their visits to weekend, cause every time they come, I want to spend some time talking to them, because if I didn’t it would be rude of me”
“But when they come around, I’ll be talking to them from morning right through till 4pm”
How do you feel about the fans? It seems Big still has a lot of them
(laughs) “I’m very happy with his fanclub, and I’m very grateful that they still haven’t forgotten about him, I think I have thanked his fan clubs on numerous occasions already (laughs)”
Where do you get the motivation to do all this hard work?
“From Big of course, just to be able to have him here with us and see his face everyday is enough motivation for us to carry on”
Has his fan club helped to give you some motivation?
“Yes, they too helped in a way because not only are they helping us financially by buying things for Big, they some times buy things for us too, and I’m so grateful for what they’ve done”
“I’m very happy that they still haven’t forgotten about him”
What about Dan and Beam? Do they come to visit Big often?
“Yes, they come every now and again, whenever they have time they always come, but when they’re busy with work they don’t have the time to come”
“But I still see them around, as a matter of fact; they were here not long ago”
We heard that Beam’s family comes often
“Yes! They do, they come here a lot, They come to have dinner here and they’re always here to help support us, I’m very grateful for the support from Beam’s family, they’re very nice people”
What your biggest hope right now?
“For Big to get better of course (laughs)”
“I know that it’s impossible for him to be the same again, but I just want him to get better to the point where he could help himself”
“That’s all I want, I just want him to get better..”
